It does look good on the Nexus 7.

Same here.

Tried connecting with an HL-340 cable but didn't connect, which is hardly a surprise (works fine with my laptop). Just ordered a very cheap PL2303 cable, as it would still smart if I had to order the £12 + p&p one off Amazon.

Morning Paul
If you let me know the Vendor ID and Product ID for that cable I'll add support for it.

How much are the ebay Nexus 7s going for? I've found refurbed versions of the 2012 Nexus 7 from Expansys for £60 the 8GB version and £70 for the 16GB version which come with a 90 day warranty. Thinking this may be a better bet than a used item off eBay unless they're v cheap and is 8GB enough to do the job? Thoughts?
Sorry Steve, missed this
The Nexus 7 looks like a nice tablet to have for the app. Both the 2013 and 14 versions work.
Best wishes

Hi Aide, thanks for that offer, is this what you need? The Hardware ID from device manager:

Not sure about finding the Vendor ID though...

Glad to hear it's all up and running smile

I always use it to check all the fault codes just before I start the engine, and then watch the lambdas kick into life shortly later.

Once it's warmed up it's also handy to check water temp and throw an eye on the fault codes every so often.

Plus, the small green and red points on the dials are min/max values that a particular dial has seen. They can be reset, and the values are persisted so if you close the app they're remembered.

And, if there are fault codes and engine readings you're more interested in, you can simply move the dials around, resize or delete them and even ditch my layout completely. There are features to save and reset the layout just in case as well.

Yeah the red dial on the rev counter was interesting... On damp b roads the revs didn't go over 3.5k as I short shifted. Even on an a road I didn't go over 4.5k.

Just to mention, it's working really well on the S2.

One question though, is it possible to load up a saved layout? Because after saving my layout, one of the dials got moved out of position, so I decided to reset the entire layout thinking it would load up the last saved. But this loads up the default layout you designed. I can't seem to work out what saving a layout even does?

Cheers

When you click on "Save Layout" the app creates a file in a directory called rs-ajp in DeviceStorage.
The filename is just a timestamp with a .rs-ajp extension.
With the following format: YYYY-MM-DD hh-mm-ss.rs-ajp
So, to open a saved layout you just have to use the file explorer on your Android device and navigate to the rs-ajp directory. In there you will see a default S3 layout and any layouts that you have saved. Click on the one you want.

Hi Matt

If it's USB host enabled then it should be fine.
If not then the PlayStore won't allow you to download the app to your device.

Have a go and let me know how you get on.

Please make sure you use the cables I listed on the PlayStore!

Best wishes
