I don't believe it's possible to alter the fan cut in tempratures via serial comms. I'm not sure if it's possible to even read them as they're stored with the fuel map on the eeprom. It's easy to determine them though by just observing and noting the coolant temp as they're switched on, one after the other, and switched off at the same time.
However, http://www.kitsandclassics.co.uk are the best at flashing you a new eeprom with altered fan temps, they did mine via post. Since they have mapped so many cars, the chances of them having a copy of your car's map is highly likely, so you wouldn't need to send the eeprom from your ecu.
Hi Aide
Downloaded your software before Christmas from the play store on my xperia z3 tablet, it look awesome but isn't communicating? I already had the two leads for the MBE software so just brought the OTG cable from your link, when this didn't work I ordered your recommended serial lead and a second OTG, but unfortunately still no joy both cable setups work with the old software and a laptop indecently both OTG cables are different in appearance (Both brought from the same amazon link) Updates have installed as released ie HUD and G meters but apart from showing satellite connection and the G meters working nothing else is active.
Didn't want to bother you I can see you have been very busy with this.
Thanks in advance for your time.

Hi Aide,
I have a Sony Experia Z3 SGP611 and would like to use your software with this tablet.
If possible I would try to avoid buying another one for this application.
Do you have any experience with this or recommendations for cables to use?
I downloaded your software and it installs without issues, but the cables I had flying around did not seem to work...
Next I will try the recommended cables as in the description in the play store.
The data sheet says the tablet has OTG functionality so I guess I would only need the USB to serial cable?
Sorry if these questions seem stupid -bits n bytes are mysteries to me...
My biggest respect for your work, it is great to see what people are capable of and actually doing!
Thanks
Henning

Many thanks for downloading the app.
In theory yes, if your phone has OTG capability built-in then all you would need is the USB to serial cable.
It's quite a subtle difference, most devices are just USB host enabled so a separate OTG cable is required as well as the USB to serial cable.
So far, I think the second generation 7" Nexus tablets have OTG capability built-in, and they have been used to successfully connect and run the app. However, I'm not sure if anyone using the second gen Nexus rely on its in-built OTG.
I don't think you can get a 9pin RS232 USB to serial cable with a male micro USB connection. Which means, in order to connect your ECU to your device, some sort of USB to USB micro adaptor would be required.
So, can I suggest you use the USB to serial cable recommended on the PlayStore listing (which I think you mentioned you're going to use) but more importantly also get the OTG cable that I've recommended as well. You're going to need an adaptor anyway and it's only £1.40.
Please feel free to ping me any questions you have.

Hi Aide,
I managed to get my setup working.
Maybe you would like to add this to your compatibility list?
I struggled to get the info in this nice table...
-Sony Experia SGP611
-Delock 61856 USB to serial adapter
-Delock 83183 Mini-USB to USB OTG cable
The layout needs to be adjusted, at the moment it seems to show 1 1/4 pages at a time.
Cheers
Henning

The layout was designed for a Samsung Galaxy S3.
On some devices with lager screens (eg Nexus 7) the default layout scales.
But on other devices it doesn't - I'm not sure why.
However, you can customise your own layout, save it and share it if you like.
I created a WIKI to share customised RS-AJP layouts here
Perhaps you can share your custom layout there?
Glad you're up and running

(ps the easiest way to create precise custom layout is to connect your mouse to your tablet via your OTG adaptor and use it to resize and position your dials and gauges)

A guy posted this when he reviewed the app on the PlayStore:
“Using on a Z3 Compact with a TVR Tuscan Working perfectly - just had to restart the phone before it picked it up. Great program - excited about what might be added in the future!”
Perhaps that might help?
I won’t make it to Burghley this year unfortunately, but there should be a good few people there that have the app. Perhaps someone can offer to test their cable/device on your car?
Missing Burgyley this year is a bit of a pain for me as I really wanted to demo the app to as many people as possible.
In the meantime, just to check that the USB Host on your Z2 and OTG cable work, you should be able to connect your mouse to your Z2 via the OTG cable.
If it doesn’t then either the OTG cable is duff or your Z2 has something wrong with its USB Host.
If it does work, I can’t think of anything other than trying the Delock 61856 USB to serial 83183 USB OTG cable combination that Henning (black_350i) successfully used?

Have tried resetting the tablet before with no joy, will have to see if I can still find someone with a USB mouse to confirm OTG function, will get back to you. was hoping not to have to go down the route of a third set of cables...
Shame about Burghley, as you say maybe someone else can offer to test my setup on there car?
Anyone?
Thanks again for your time.

OK Thanks to Mark for his help at Burghley, we now know that my Tablet and software work fine on his setup / car as do the two OTG cables and the advised r232 to usb cable, couldn't test my ECU cable as Mark's is wired direct to his ECU, and could'nt test marks setup on my ECU as my car was still with TVR POWER So two steps closer.
Car back at home and still no joy??? Still no communication even tryed the r232 straight in into the ECU. All out of ideas hear!
Any thought's?

I was going to ask if you swapped the Tx Rx wires over, however if it didn't work by plugging the adapter directly into the RS232 socket on the ECU, I'm not sure what the next step is.
Aide tested his setup 3 years ago on the same lead you used in my car, so I'm pretty sure it is something to do with the later style ECU...I'm sure Aide will be along later.

Hi Matt
Let's work through this.
With the simplest setup of:
App -> OTG -> usb2serial -> 9pinDirectToEcu
We know that your App & OTG work on Marks car
And that the usb2serial and original software work on your car.
So, to start, can you post a picture of the simple setup above connected to your car?

Hi Matt, good to meet you this morning, shame we couldn't get much further diagnosing the issues. Not sure if we tried my USB > Serial converter with all your other leads but that is the only option I think we didn't try.
Aide, we connected my laptop up with my USB > Serial lead connected to Matt's serial to 3 pin which in turn was connected to the 3 pin ECU cable. This setup worked with EvoOli's software and some I've written. ECU Id is #94130116. We also tried Matt's tablet connected directly to the ECU (using a serial lead known to work) on my Cerb which didn't work either. Difficult to know where to go from there as that tablet+OTG+serial2USB combo was tested and worked with another Cerb. Does your software flag an error if it can't open the COM port ie if the apadter is faulty or not connected?
