Aide, bought the app to go with the cheap tablet but a month later the tablet battery is fked, can I just upload the app to a new tablet when I get one or am I expected to pay for the app again too?
No, should be yours with your google play account. Regardless of your device.Gazzab said:
Fyp - what's the plan for dash mounting?
I have a cheap bracket that I'm gonna try out. It is supposed to be for mounting to an air vent but the plan is to wedge that bit into the gap above the stereo. It's going to be a bit Heath Robinson and I have had to modify it somewhat but the end result might be passable. Will do a thread on it if it works out ;-)I am now trying to take the instrument binnacle off
I have got the software to work (nice work Aide!) but having trouble charging the tablet at the same time. I have a dual lead which is USB A male and micro B male both coming into a USB A male. I have various adapters including a micro B female to USB A female. If I plug it one way round, the software works but tablet doesn't charge, and vice versa if I plug it in the other way. My plan is to have the tablet wired up such that it charges when the ignition is on.
I have also made up a rs232 ribbon extension from components bought at hobbytronics which works a treat and will allow me to close the lid of the ecu if I make a small cutout. It's an IDC arrangement but v easy to do, cost about £6.50 including 2m of ribbon although I didn't use it all - it is long enough to come up behind the dash above the passengers knees.
I am making progress...

Hi HarryW, on your new tablet, if you log into it with the same google account as before you can restore all your apps. Afaik there's no upper bound on the number of installs per device so you should be ok.HTH!
