For those with the 95/97 button.....can you tell any difference in the way the car runs ?

(Besides the change in colour of the button lighting...)

Slightly off topic but does anyone know where I could get one of these buttons from?

There are changes needed in the ECU code so that it reacts to the octane switch.
Just fitting the switch will definitely have no effect.

When I had mine mapped, the button suppresses the map for 95 and Jules showed on the laptop from memory.

Its NOT a completely different map however.

To be honest I barely use it, however it always gets pointed at by passengers... "what's that"

depending on the mood I make something up.

Tubro boost
Ejector seat button
99/97% of shut the f&*K up.
Small spikes are released in case chased.

The switch puts a resistance across one of the the mapping inputs (as used by the old style mapping box with potentiometers)
The ECU is configured to use the input to apply an offset to the ignition timing.
There are no changes to the fuelling at all. Just an approx 4 degree retardation of the timing.

My red rose button isn't wired up....

Does any one have the wiring diagram they can post ?

I'm guessing its wired into the big ecu plug

You'd need a mod to the data on the eeprom as well I believe Gray

I've already spoken to Joolz about this, last time I had a bit of mapping work done.

Looks like a none starter, as it seems a bit of a complex job, from what I could gather..... Electronics are not my strong suit.

You're changing to 4.5 induction graham so it becomes a bit easier as you can have a chip based around a factory red rose chip with custom fuel and ignition maps when you next come in for mapping. The problem would have been replicating in the 4.2 chip what TVR did in the red rose chip .. if you see what I mean.

Well that's excellent news Joolz.. Thanks very much... I will do my very best to get the switch wired to the ecu before you do the re mapping work.
