Cerbera prices?
Discussion
"You’ve noticed that the price of TVR’s is climbing."
No, what i have noticed is people not driving these cars, putting them in the garage polishing them talking about the price going up
Just had six weeks driving my Tuscan every day in the UK and not seen another TVR on the road all very sad

The only way will see Cerbera 34k prices anytime soon is if all owners decide overnight they are worth 34k and won't part with them for a penny less. Then if anyone wants one they are 34k.
I'm up for this lol...........If you think about it that is how prices move. A few years ago you could pick up a Sagaris for low/mid 30k then a few mad people asked 40k...which led to others asking 40k...which led to the good examples asking 45k...which led to others asking 45k...which led to...you get the idea.
Also things like the Parkers/Glass values which dealers/people use are based on average prices and updated monthly from average asking prices (they must be asking prices as they claim their prices include values from private sales).
Rather than year after year moaning about depreciation and people giving away their cars for little money perhaps we should form a price fixing ring? Take some proactive action at restoring the brands value to where we think it should be.
It would be interesting...40k Cerbera anyone?

This would make for a very interesting economic study. If say 10-15 Cerbera owners all put there car for sale at 34k (with no intention of selling) will it force the prices up? Will people with cars at 10-12k think "Well my car must be worth 20k at least!"...very interesting.
With such few cars on the market and in existence this shouldn´t be a big problem. If prices would be higher there wouldn´t be that many cheap bad ones on the market, because restoring them would make sence.
Original low miles examples would rise even more and the highest prices will then be made by the barnfinds.
So get a cheap one and put it in a barn very fast.
I was looking at the current cerb classifieds on PH...
...and all of a sudden I had a vision from the future...
That is what we could achieve if just a dozen people got together. As soon as my restoration is complete I'm in. People might be a little suspicious of a £30,000 Cerbera that is currently in in 30,000 pieces.
Anyone up for a 30k+ first page of the classifieds?

Just did an interesting exercise. What do you make of the prices below? (All from PH classifieds)
Sagaris
Top: £60,000
Middle: £53,750
Bottom: £47,500
Top: £36,995
Middle: £29,495
Bottom: £21,995
Top: £21,990
Middle: £18,195
Bottom: £14,400
Top: £37,995
Middle: £26,872
Bottom: £15,750
Cerbera
Top: £22,995
Middle: £16,472
Bottom: £9,950
Top: £39,995
Middle: £25,472
Bottom: £10,950
Chimaera
Top: £26,990
Middle: £16,620
Bottom: £6,250
I'm going to have a stab at guessing price movements over 12-36 months.
My predictions:
Sagaris: Have hit their ceiling and could drop by ~5k and remain there for eternity.
T350: Will continue to climb untill they meet bottom end Sagaris prices.
Tamora: Will climb by the same amount as the T350 with some overlap for the very best examples.
Tuscan: Top end (MK3) prices to increase to just above bottom end Sagaris prices, lower end prices to increase slightly.
Cerbera: Currently way underpriced and will start to increase to reflect Griffith prices.
Griffith: Top end prices to remain the same, lower end prices to increase.
Chimaera: Top end to increase slightly - Lower end prices to increase substantially.
Basically if you want a TVR in tip top condition then it'll cost you ~£40,000 for most models.
Lower end prices will start to increase as taking on a project car becomes more financially viable due to the potential value of a finished car project being worth more.
Eventually price differences of ~£30,000 (as in the Griffiths case) will decrease as ropey examples are restored.
I don't think anyone currently owning any TVR will loose money in the next 12-36months.
I don't think a new TVR model will affect prices of past models as the cars will be from different era's and potentially quite different due to the new cars having to meet new EU legislation etc.
