Resurrection!
As Im happy to stick with my 4bolt, braided setup I'll be upgrading to Brummies CL 305mm grooved front discs. The red stuffs can stay on for now as they are still so thick but then I'll be going either Mintex or Carbon Lorraine.

Get CL and do a proper job from the beginning.

Interested - can you expand more on the details as I have a 4.2 with 4 bolt calipers.
Sure I did send you a DM but to clarify my soon to go on setup I've gone for a custom Reyland 2 piece 304x29 disc with a 6.5mm caliper spacer. As pads will be updated as ive never really liked the squeaky red stuffs on here currently, I've spoken with Brummie and will be getting the RC+5 CL pads both front and rear. Can't wait

I find it strange how many people are discussing front brake upgrades without considering how it might affect f/r brake balance.
Also the displacement of the master cylinder not forgetting the caliper piston specs for calculation, together with vehicle weight.I agree big brakes only scratch the surface of correct tuning.

I've got the original 294mm one piece disks with cl pads in 4pot calipers. On the rear I have brummie disks with cl pads.As the front does the majority of the braking, and my car is weighted 52/48 front, then I'm interested in the options available, as it's generally thought with this setup there's not much can be done without swapping out to 6 pot.

Agreed! The 304 front setup was specced by TVR so its not going to do anything adverse. infact its probably the best option rather than changing to a 6 bolt (if your listening to the balancing scaremongering that is). Im going that way as Im having a 4.3 engine upgrade and see it as a must but if I did go 4.5 then I think i would then be more inclined to reach for the 6 bolt 330x30 option. As the front does the majority of the braking, and my car is weighted 52/48 front, then I'm interested in the options available, as it's generally thought with this setup there's not much can be done without swapping out to 6 pot.
pics to come mate

A lot of the advantage of big brakes is heat capacity as well though.. So over multiple stops rather than just outright braking. I think you could get a standard setup to stop as well as a big brake setup, but it wouldn't do it for as long.. Gassing Station | Cerbera | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
