not made a contribution lately but got a couple of days before the bits arrive for the work on nicks chim so been machining the sockets for the swivel bearings on the a arms, they tend to warp slightly when welding plus made a start on machining the split clamps for the steering rack hopefully finish tomorrow although got to make a boring bar for the mill first.

lots more machining yesterday and today finished the rack clamps and started on the rear arb bearing mountings seems never ending on a manual mill but great to see them evolve.

well back on track finished the mounting brackets for the arb also now fabricated the mountings on the chassis for them and started machining the ends of the bar itself which will be sweated into the tube to create solid ends for the link arms to fit into i have built up both rear suspensions to get the length of the drive shafts needed plus have made and fitted the diff carriers to the chassis so the rear end is nearly complete

fair bit more done, started on the front arb and have finished fitting the support brackets, also finished fitting the steering rack had to do a chassis mod to get the pinion of the rack exactly where it is needed to avoid any bump steer etc.all getting very snug up front, i have sourced the material for the arb levers and cut to lenght they are now away being taper turned as my old capstan cant taper turn so should have them back next week.

been to long since i did anything much to the car but getting on now the rebuilds for this year are done, started by removing the door sills to about an inch above the hip joint this is to allow the exhausts to run in newly built sills one each side so been making the plug for the tops of the sills the side and underneath will be removable to gain access to the exhaust, also started in between waiting for stuff to harden on the plug for the n/s/f wing as all four wings have got to be remade to accomodate the extra track and larger wheels plus getting on with the steering column made up the first part from rack to support bearing tube all nicely tigged onto the splines with a nice birdmouth shape for greater strength, gearbox has been changed to a t56 magnum 6 speed got to do a new mounting for that today.

todays update, lots more done on the wing plug, first part of the steering column installed and the gearbox mount fitted the mount was easier than i thought just had to remove material from the old one as the new box is longer so further back in the chassis.
