Doors and windows just stopped working..

I already replaced all the connector in the driver's door.. The passenger ones seem fine, much better than the old driver's side ones. I think this and the complete failure leads me away from connector issues.

I will plug the box back in and retry jumping them again and go from there.

Just going to keep adding my findings in here.. Keep them in one place and in case someone can interject..

Back out there tonight. I can jump the boot lock and the interior light. Nothing from locks/windows in either door. The alarm went off, after I opened the drivers door, guessing that was the microwave sensors though.

I jumped the passenger window straight off a battery and it worked ok. Bit slow on the up (wire got hot), but fine on the down.

Need to look at the wiring between the box and the doors then I think. It must be something in the middle there, as they have both died at the same time?!

I have been fighting the drivers door today on mine so was having a think about your problem.
My drivers door mirror button has been intermittent and the window would go up and down when opening the door, the micro switch connector and a broken wire in the loom to the door were my problem. The broken wire is pictured here after I pulled the loom through from the door into the footwell.



Is your connector still getting hot on the door control module? this could be a bad connection on the pin in the plug or could be that something is drawing power through it whether it be trying to power a window or a short etc.
Does it still get hot if the 3 plugs for each door are disconnected in the footwells? This would narrow down that it is in a door or in the car loom/door control module. Then reconnect one connector at a time to see which is causing the fault.

Unfortunately it seems to have stopped getting hot when plugged in.. Strange. Nothing works still however.

Need to spend some more time on it! See if there is power to the switches. Etc.

Right.. More to add..

I have no power at J46. Power everywhere else. If I apply 12v to the windows I blow the associated fuse (Y/G & R/G)?? I can jump the boot and interior lights still, and the lights can be switched on individually from their switches. Tried applying 12v straight to the driver's window motor and getting nothing. Passengers worked ok like that.

I was getting 12v to the windows at all times with the ECU connected.. Disconnected I got nothing. Wasn't getting any voltage from the window switches to explain this. I get 11v from the door switches when pressed.

Seems to me the ECU has died! Anyone got a late spare for sale..? With the window close update/upgrade..? Or I'll just get this one repaired when Paul is back from holiday..

My ECU is on the way to Paul @PSElectrical today.. Having spoken to him, he seems to think my drivers window has died and taken the ECU with it. Time will tell..

ECU has been to Paul @ PSElectrical Solutions.. Processor and driver had died..

Need to check the driver's window in more detail and check the door window circuits, although it is likely the driver's window killed it.

Bit of an update..

ECU was dead. Went to Paul @PSElectrical and it now works.. Passenger's side is sorted. Driver's window is dead. Can you repair the regulators? Got mine out/apart..





Looks like some wear on the carbon brushes etc..
