I need some new brake pads asap for my MOT retest tomorrow morning (well I shouldn't but the MOT guy is being a bit picky). Most places can get me some for Monday and I have ordered some which "may" arrive tomorrow but I want a backup plan to be sure.

Does anyone know where I can get front brake pads for a 98 4.5 cerbera today? I have been trying most the day but can't find anywhere with stock that I can get to in a reasonable amount of time - I am based near Telford.

If I can't get through the MOT tomorrow then Burghley isn't going to happen for my Cerbera.

Your best bet is Demon Tweeks Superstore, they'll sell EBC Yellowstuff pads for the Cerbera.

About an hour from Telford in Wrexham... they close at 5:30... driving

I would love to but red stuff will do and they are £64 for the front pads - CL are nearly £200.

EBC Brakes Redstuff Performance Brake Pads TVR Cerbera 1998 4.5 Front Pad Set - AP Calipers
EBCDP3002C £52.54 Ex

Part No: CLRC5/TF
Price: £165.94
Vat: £33.19

I am sure they are worth the money but £200 for a set of front pads is a bit too much for me.

Thanks for the offer but Doncaster is 110 miles from me and I have to take my 8 year old son to cricket practice later this evening. I don't think he would understand if I took him to Doncaster for some brake pads instead!

I can't believe brake pads for a 4.5 Cerbera could be so rare. Most the problem seems to be nobody actually knows which pads should go in the car. I suppose that is the problem with the 4.5 using different ones form the 4.2 but then changing again to the Tuscan ones after a few years.

Did you have a full set? Would putting these on the front and leaving ecb on the rear unsettle the braking balance too much?

I have them all round, I think if you did the rears I might be a issue but a front set should be fine as it is the main braking force.

Can't agree more, give Brummie a shout. Took my redstuff off as they are naff, called brummie and got some CL RC5+ all round added to some CL premium fluid to my 304x29 2 piece disc upgrade and OMG these things are superb.

Braking in a arrow straight line from hi speed pedal feel is awesome and car just stops on a 6pence!

Only thing I will say is they DO sqeak at low speed when crawling and coming to a gentle stop.

The Hawk racing pads in my Chim are as you describe the CL pads - I think the squeaking is because they are racing pads.

Mine have stopped doing it since I did a track day, so maybe it is just the pads glazing - try and find some clear road and do a couple of hard stops from speed to clean them up a tad?

Was able to go for a quick spin this morn and as advised gave some decent braking a go. There was one point I had to take some evasive action as a wheelie bin had fallen off a truck and was in the middle of the overtaking lane on a duel carriageway no drama at all and easily avoided as it had been there for some time before I was approaching.

The power of these brakes really is fantastic I can't stress enough to anyone thinking they need an upgrade give Brummie a call! I was thinking if I ever got the 4.5SS upgrade I'd need to do the whole 6bolt calliper with 330x30 discs but this set up I have of 304x29 with CL all round I think would more than manage regardless though I think I will be going for the 4.3SS upgrade.

Once again Brummie Top work on the CLs!
