Got home from work this evening to find the both windows fully down, both doors open and the boot also open.

This has happened twice while the car has been locked and alarm set. Luckily both times the car has been in the garage.

Is it time to send the door / window box of for investigation & repair?

Anybody else had this happen?

Thanks. smile

Is the battery good? Maybe try disconnecting the unit for a few mins then reconnect to see if it resets. While disconnected examine the terminals for any burning or damage.

Thanks for the reply.

Battery is less than 6 months old, but isn't always on a conditioner(just ordered one from Amazon)

Disconnected control box earlier for about an hour and reconnected.

It doesn't close the windows fully on locking either. But that's been the case ever since I've owned the car.

Will leave overnight and check tomorrow!

What age is the box? It will have a date on the right hand side next to the persons name who built/tested the unit.

From memory it's dated 97.

Will double check when I get home tonight.

When mine has done this for various reasons I have just sat inside the car shut the doors wound the windows right up locked the car then unlocked it got out and it seems to help reset the position where it closes to.
It might work. worth a try.

Thanks Mark, that worked a treat. Only had the car 11 years and that's the first time the windows have gone from fully open to fully closed on locking!

Battery now on a conditioner, will see what that does!

If your's is a 97 it would fit in with a theory (well a conjecture currently) I have about these boxes.

I will post a new thread up so I don't hijack yours.

Glad it worked. thumbup I never knew if this was just something that worked on mine or not. I've only had to do it on mine occasionally but each time this has sorted it.
Check the window runners are clean also so the window goes up with less resistance.

My driver's door was really slow going up even after cleaning all the connectors in the door. The passenger's was better but still a bit dozy.
After replacing the felt in the runners on both sides and adjusting the glass towards the rear there has been a marked improvement. The passenger's is like a modern car and goes up at speed. The driver's is a little bit slower but definitely very acceptable now. Well worth doing.
