Just wondered if any of you guys are planning on going. It is 1 of the best circuits in the UK and really suits the cerb.I will be there and it would be good to see a few of you and have a chat.

would love to stretch the cerbs legs as its been 2 years since I've managed a track day. Work gets in the way again!

If APM can work a miracle and get mine rebuilt by then, I'd love the drive up and back, but no tracking yet.

Wotcha Gray, wavey

Have just returned from the UK where the potholes managed to impart a busted front left Shock absorber and front right Spider.

So, no chance frown
(Hope that you and Mike have a beer for "absent loonies" beer)

Yes it is one of the best, but I'm not convinced that it's really a Cerb friendly track. There are only a couple of fairly quick sections, the rest is far more suited to an Elise or similar. Light and agile is going to trump outright pace.

However, I'm fairly sure you'd leave me for dust so what do I know....

Sad to see that but Cadwell does bite.

It is a great Cerb track with fast sweeping bends as well as the tighter ones.

I expect this will be a sessioned day again rather than OPL (I will check though) - in which case
I will not be going as I just can't stand the hanging around waiting for your allocated session.
The call usually comes just as I want to go to the john or am in the middle of a coffee/natter.

The TVRCC day must be the only non-open pit lane one left anywhere.

It is sessioned, 3 20 min slots per hour. I agree it would be better OPL, but it does give you time for a natter and a coffee and watch the others on track. It is supprising how quickly the 40 mins go.

I rember seeing him go off in my mirrors, not nice. Talking to the marshalls, who said the mountain section is notorious for catching out Lotus & MR2s.

I think it's that way to encourage people new to trackdays, I'm with you and prefer OPL but initially I felt much more comfortable on a sessioned day.
TBH I probably don't do much, if any, more driving on open pitlane but obviously if your session gets flagged a couple of times then you can't make that time up which is irritating but I understand TVRCC's reasons for running it that way. I've never had a bad Club day, you seem to get less red flags than on regulation trackdays anyway.

And also for breaking drive shafts.

Ouch!!
I hadn't seen that.....
(Too busy going to the loo between sessions...!)
;-)

Here's hoping we keep it on the black stuff....
I span at a TVRCC track day coming over the crest at the end of Park "Straight"..... my own stoopid mistake, lifted off as came over the crest / touched the brakes whilst the rear of the car "light" and unsettled, spat me off and I managed to get the car travelling in a straight line... albeit backwards... bumped over the track after Park Bend and came to an ignomious halt....
(sorry to Colin, who was instructing and onboard whilst that happened!!!). Luckily no damage, other than to my pride / ego....

Wouldn't stainless or zinc plating the chassis add quite a bit of weight to the car?
