I'm curious as I was looking through the history and found a dyno print out after Joolz re-mapped the car for the previous owner. I must admit I was slightly disappointed/shock with the number. It feels faster and I'm sure I real somewhere that they should achieve a much higher figure. The reality is it is plenty fast enough and I wouldnt want it any faster, but was wondering, what do other 4.2's really run at?

As far as I can tell my car has a Joolz remap with inlet porting and an ACT exhaust with no cats.

Thank you for that link. Mine is 360.4bhp so actually quite good in comparison.

Thanks again.

I've got a dyno with my 4.2 from the previous owner showing 365 bhp, not sure how accurate that is though but it feels quick enough.

343bhp constantly before mapping, i.e from factory. Most 4.2s running correctly seem to be consistantly around 340bhp from factory.

It was then 360bhp after mapping and porting work, but the exhaust manifolds were cracked. After these were replaced with ACT manifolds it was then 380.7bhp. I have the 2.5" ACT quiet system, which robs some power but is quieter than the 3".

The last figure was at surrey rolling road, figures I trust and have been verified at two other rollers since.

360 is good, it should pull like a train and you really wouldnt notice the extra few horses. What you do get is a smooth delivery throughout the curve.

It certainly is smooth and feels fast enough. Its currently at Str8six having suspension setup and new brakes so I can actually use the power.....

Looking forward to getting it back (not looking forward to getting the bill!)

Not forgetting later 4.2's are 4.5's as I am told. Mine has standard exhaust and no mapping, 2003. At bring your horses a while back it clocked 364 much to my suprise. It does go well!

SRR - 346bhp/326ft/lb torque. 1210 kg with 1/2 tank of Shells finest.

To give some context as to the available peformance on those figures my Vbox recorded on the following day 0-60 4.41, 100 in 9.54, 150 in 22.03, 22.00 dead for the standing Kilometer at 149.8, 160 in 27. Topped out at 7100rpm giving 177.2mph (change up lights on and buzzer buzzing - indicating 188mph).

Santa Pod the following year - 12.71 at 114.8mph. Nowhere near as quick as Longbow (12.16 if memory serves), but that boy can launch a 4.2 Cerbera. longbows standing mile time equally impressive at 31 seconds with 172mph terminal.

Ooops.. slight correction there! Standing 1 mile terminal at Straightliners was 166mph over the beams. 172 was clocked over a standing 1.5 mile.

On the first fighting torque, 3/4 mile, I was running through the finish line at around 155 in 4th with the rev limiter beeping. I didn't want to lose any time changing to 5th. I generally run around 35mph per gear in mine when pushing, so 70 in second, 115 third etc.

I do the quarter in third, so 133. Xx across the line, 202mph in fifth was over 7500rpm though.
