Wiring Problem
Discussion
Opinions please, nearly had an issue the other day with the big fuse melting. I stripped the fuse and associated wiring out
The wiring, connectors and ring terminals are shot as is the conduit protection. What I plan do is make a direct replacement which is a better quality and more aesthetically pleasing. I have also been looking at the rest of the wiring in the engine bay which to be fair looks abit poor quality and also provides very little heat protection. I would like opinions on making a replacement engine loom with a multi point connector on the bulk head, a bit like this
I thought it may tidy the engine bay up a bit and provide more reliability as I think most of the wiring is chaffing somewhere along the engine bay

Think that's an exceexcellent idea!
I had some intermittent missfires with my 4.2, changed coil packs, leads, no difference until I spotted a one of 4 wires in the 4 way plug loose on the engine bay loom you refer to. Most of my niggles over the years I've owned her have been down to poor wiring, would !love to upgrade the lot.
