Took for the work commute (this time to Northampton and back into Milton Keynes) enjoyed the sun. Amazing how many youngsters love to get close in Traffic so they can read the badge to know what it is... Also amazing how the older more mature (you would hope) like to charge up to your rear in slow traffic (just so they can feel like they can keep up in their motor). I feel better letting them drive away not entertaining than I do blowing their doors off. wink

I'm the same, nothing to prove so don't even try! You know it, but more importantly, so do they. And they just look like a wker!

Went to drive it, no clutch as usual. Bled it, drove it for half an hour and nursed it back home with barely any clutch pedal.

That is pants. I've had the occasional clutch drag over the last few days, fortunately it doesn't last for long, so there is very little incentive to take the clutch out and replace the star washers that are almost certain to be the culprit.

Drivers door speaker stopped working, so it was time to bite the bullet and sort out the wiring. It's had a broken wire for the last 7 years that means the door open detection was a little hit and miss. The windows would wind back up as you opened the door so you had to press the button to open it again.

So my car wiring looks nothing like the diagrams. I have two 6 pin plugs and another 3 pin rather than a 12 pin plug. Cleaned all the connectors so everything worked but I still had the issue with the door. Turned out to be the feed from the door reed switch was intermittent, which was a broken wire in the loom, right where it loops through the door. Ended up managing to run a new wire, relooming the wiring neatly and I now have a fully working radio and door again. Bonus points for the window drops and stays, then winds fully to the top on closing every time biggrin

Now all it needs is a good clean

Bled the clutch again and got some more air out. My remote reservoir mod needed a tweak - the pipe going through the cap is secured with a nut either side, these needed nipping up. Also made sure the master cap is on nice and tight.

Provided the level in the remote reservoir keeps dropping gradually, to replace the fluid lost by the slave weeping, the system is working, and so should the clutch..

The car redeemed itself as it is running sweet as a nut, possibly the best it has ever been, smooth and pulls like a train after a couple of visits to APM smile

So today was.......change lambdas, check plugs ( new last week ) new leads, new coils.
Whilst in the V of the engine I noticed these!!!(picture) from a previous owner I hasten to add!
Hate to think of the carnage they could have caused!!
Lambdas where plugged in to the wrong banks...not sure what that was about but are now correct.

Roll on tomorrow!!

Very easy day for me today. Just popped the bonnet and switched the battery isolator to off! Don't need the C-TEK using any power while I recharge my own batteries in Ibiza for the week. wink

Dropped it off at the paint shop today for a nice shiny new coat of paint. Going from ocean haze to yellow. I just have to decide which yellow.
