Hah! Must be getting to that time of year then 'cos I have just been gliptone-ing my interior to death too! Used the gentle and intensive cleaners on a few areas and then lots of conditioner. Looking a lot better as a result.

Changed over my battery for the Varta that fits as the Bosch was dropping off very quickly and was eventually going to leave me stranded. Coded my new remote from David at HF solutions so now have a backup just in case with the old 'un.

......and now its raining............again......

With the seats out the rest of the interior was scrubbed clean with gentle leather cleaner. Just need to clean the carpets and put the seats back in. Then I can start on the steering wheel.

Oh and does the gearknob just unscrew so I can put the new gaiter on? Seems very tight, I didn't want to force it. The old one has the stitching slightly unpicked.

Yes it does unscrew but there is a colar under the gaiter on the neck that helps if you twist in opposite direction.

Not having a shift light and just a beep at max gear RPM gets my OCD going so orange LEDs arrived ready to give to the lads at Power when I go to drop some more bits in.

Edited to add I hope the 5mm rounded top size is correct

Sorry why haven't you?
My car starts beeping at high revs 7K? and gets more and more frantic as you approach 8k. I'm sure there's a light as well. MIL light?
From memory there's a little pico fuse on the circuit board.
Do you get beeping from your indicators?

Bodyshop has finished all the bodywork now, with all chips, cracks and grazes dealt with and is sitting in the spray booth now ready for its new colour.

It's been in for 2 weeks and it's like waiting for Xmas as small child!!

It's at the bottom of the rev counter but it's awfully dim.

Not today, but from Saturday

Really impressive to think that those NASCAR guys run at twice the speed that we manage around the banking (although they don't have to slow down for the infield)

I sent it to specialist bodyshop in Surrey that deal with Autoflex, a new liquid wrap that looks like OEM paint. The painter there is ex F1, so used to carbon fibre and fiberglass vehicles.

Long story short my car is mechanically sound after a lot of money spent, but very tatty when you get up close. I didn't want to spend the cash on a body off paint job, but wanted to refresh it, so Autoflex is a low (ish) cost for a semi permanent solution.

At some point it will have a full body off for a chassis refurb so paint can be considered then. This was a 2+ year temporary solution.

They filled, sanded and repaired every single blemish on the car and did a full colour change, from silver to black (with red metal flake as it has a red interior) for not a huge amount of money.

The finish is amazing, easily as good, if not better than (modern) factory OEM and can be completely removed if/when I chose.

It is also semi self healing, which is great for fiberglass cars and stone chips. If it gets a scratch, simply heat it up a little and it reforms.

I will upload a video of it in a few mins.

From very tatty silver to this:

Straight out of the gun, immediately after being shot. Currently baking off before colour sanding and cut/polish.

Looking forward to seeing this for real, James, it sounds too good to be true!
If it's peelable/self healing how can it be cut and polished? Care to tell the (ballpark) cost?

I pick it up on Friday so will take some better pics when I have seen it in the flesh too. I'm excited to see it.

Not sure how it all works to be honest, maybe a bit of Voodoo, but I have seen my speed shape wet sanded/cut/polished and it came up amazingly.

Here is a vid of heating out scratches.....

Nooooooooo! Dammit..... Top part silver, bottom part black/red.

Will have to wait and see. It's still relatively new so I'm certainly going into it with a view that it may not last/work as advertised.

It costs less than a vinyl wrap.

Hi Paul,

When the injectors come back from the shop il check out what is needed....
If need be I will order up some new orings......probably from the usual suspects....unless I can find the specs and order some cheaper else where......

As to pull them.....I've a 4.2 ..... depressurise your fuel line ( pull fuse no19, fuel pump, whilst engine running......it'll stall) if engine was hot LEAVE it to cool!!!

Disconnect the battery......you dont want sparks either!!!!

Then remove fuel rail bolts ..... unplug injector connectors.....pull the rail out and the injectors will come away easy enough from the throttle bodies.....then twist and pull injector out of rail....have something to catch a fair amount of fuel......hence the warning about sparks and a cold engine........

Really easy.....
