... and it won't start!

I'm not the greatest with car electrics, but I assume I have a resistance fault somewhere in the fuel pump/immobiliser wiring? The car is stunning when running, but sometimes when trying to start, the relay clicks, then clicks off, no fuel priming.

I thought it was the battery, but a new one hasn't helped.

Love my car smile
Rather pleasingly, it was the inertia switch, the connector must have been disturbed a little when I was looking at something in the boot.

Running beautifully smile

Chassis check and cleanup going well on the tvr. It's been 10-11 years since it was done...

Some small areas, stone chips, scrapes etc to clean up and repaint... It's a pain cleaning off the old Dinitrol wax in places, but it's really protected the chassis well.

Then I found a large chip which had allowed water under and flaked the paint. By the time it was cleaned...

It's all had some Bilthammer rust killer applied, which creates a barrier, then it'll all get painted over with POR15 2 part, the stuff that sets hard, and then rewaxed with Dinitrol

Nice one Dave, looks a great space you have for working on the Cerb, cold though this time of year!

I've done nothing this year, car is SORN, hope to get back on it in 2024, need to learn how to do bodywork (spraying), or bite the bullet, and pay some money to tidy it up.

Big double garage. Behind the Spa curtain are a number of metal cabinets full of junk..

Only think that would make it better would be a big double door so I could put the car in the middle...

I'm still making outrigger protectors and they do the job very well. Imagine not having to scrap any of that off the areas again.

Did it have a body off ten years ago? I remember you have been on here longer than that! How many miles have you done since then?

Similar time at least since I did the body off on the 4.5, that only needed the chips touching last year when I was going over it. I was very pleased to find the rust hadn't started to spread at all on on that smile

Pete,

Did Colin / Tina down at TVRSSW ever get in touch? They mentioned they were looking at offering a service to fit your outrigger protectors.

Not sure if it went any further, but i'd definitely be keen.

Apologies if this breaks forum rules mentioning an indy. feel free to delete if it does.

cheers.

Had a puncture fixed this morning and then noticed a small reflector had fallen off the rear bumper so went to VW to request warranty replacement (the thing is £30).

Three month old car (roll eyes).

Body off 10/11 years ago after I was made redundant, seemed a good thing to spend the money on biggrin
It's on 70 something thousand, so 30 something thousand. I lost a yearish of driving with the engine rebuild, but it does get used all weather.

Thats was rear nearside that had flaked. A slight chip on the bottom I think had allowed water in, so I've cleaned it all back, POR15 two part hardening and and adding coats of Dinitrol again. The rest was fine apart from a few chips. Not bad considering it's used all year.

That is very good for all year round driving. I re-zinc plated everything when I did mine but seeing what one winter did to all my hard work I don’t go out if there has been any salt on the roads now…

No family duties until about 10:30 tomorrow so finished rewaxing the chassis, newly refurbished wheels back on. If the roads are dry tomorrow those empty roads might be calling...
