It's on 70 something thousand, so 30 something thousand. I lost a yearish of driving with the engine rebuild, but it does get used all weather.

Thats was rear nearside that had flaked. A slight chip on the bottom I think had allowed water in, so I've cleaned it all back, POR15 two part hardening and and adding coats of Dinitrol again. The rest was fine apart from a few chips. Not bad considering it's used all year.
That is very good for all year round driving. I re-zinc plated everything when I did mine but seeing what one winter did to all my hard work I don’t go out if there has been any salt on the roads now…
Although mine has had a zinc base & extra thick layer of powder, I too avoid salty roads.

...but with the mild conditions and lots of rain to wash away the salt, it gives a perfect opportunity to get out for a blast whenever there's the occasional dry spell. driving

Should be fairly straightforward. The switch has a tiny plastic lever which can get dislocated, stopping the glass from tripping the switch - could be that?
Other than that the only tip I have is quite obvious - mark round the clamps with a sharpie so that the glass goes back in the same position.
