What have you done to your car today......
Discussion
I sorned mine, not worth taxing it as i have a leaking rear shock which by the looks of the amount of oil, not worth driving until done.
But does mean i can now get on with my winter jobs.
Clutch, slave and master
handbrake
rewire my HIDS
Glue a clip back on my scuttle panel
glue the velco back on my drivers mate, adjust the carpet at the end of the footwell as the clutch pedal catches it, ( nothing to do with the clutch overall)

I've got 2 weeks off work.
Got it up on stands, removed the wheels and made a start on removing the inch thick of waxoyl that's doing a st job of preventing the chassis from rusting.
Hopefully, it'll be done before I have to go back to work.
Boy do I know that job....lying on my back in Feb in a concrete garage with wind blowing through scraping, scraping and more damned scraping. Bloody stuff gets everywhere. I found WD40 to be quite good at getting into the waxoyl and softening it up for scraping, did get through quite a few cans though.Got it up on stands, removed the wheels and made a start on removing the inch thick of waxoyl that's doing a st job of preventing the chassis from rusting.

Don't have the luxury of a garage, today has been spent lying on my back on a slopy driveway, scraping, painting and putting new suspension on the rear nearside. My aim was a corner per day but I made good progress, so started the offside rear. The b'stard bottom bolt on the shock is siezed solid. Not happy, got a sore finger when the hammer slipped too
9 hours up on the ramp to get to the point of just about fitting the new slave cylinder. Absolute ball ache!
New exhaust has some bent studs between sections which made it very tricky to pull apart, tunnel heat shielding only held up with 4 small screws so that was easy but a total bodge. No waxoyl on the chassis at all.
Prop to diff bolts very tight.
Box off not too bad, then 2 hours plus to get the slave unit out, 4mm countersunk heads totally useless had to be drilled out then get the remaining threads out. Had to make 2 pullers as the slave was tight even with heat. Seals on the old unit non existent.
New aly unit in and clutch action now good with new slave and master in 1 week.
Some surface rust in places but superficial, drivers side chassis really good, looks like coolant has leaked on passenger side as some surface rust which will be treated and painted tomorrow.
Box to go back on and new heat shielding. Reverse cable to box fried and metled together.
All in all a st day but hopefully all back together tomorrow so I can get it on the dyno on thursday.
Brakes need attention next, servo is quite weak but not sure how it's supposed to be so will pop in a cerb friendly garage this week on way back from dyno session.

Hahaha...had a lucky escape. I started the Cerb up in the garage and let it warm through while I was tinkering about with a battery charger on the bench. Jumped in the car and went round to my mates house about 5 miles away. Got out the car and stopped the engine and to my horror realised I had left the keys at home in the garage....I quickly pressed the button and to my amazement it started!
Luckily I had restarted it before the immobiliser had kicked in, needless to say I drove staight home and collected the keys!

When engine overheats the expansion tank dumps coolant directly on the passenger side chassis rail - Criminal!I have tried to fashion an overflow pipe taking coolant from the expansion tank away from the engine bay.
Just spent the morning burning my way through a load of super-unleaded, the rebuilt engine pulls really well, now I've covered sufficient miles and it's had another oil change/check over that long accelerator travel is getting pushed further towards the carpet! What a great car the cerb is....
