What have you done to your car today......

Got the gearbox back in what a pig when on axles stands although my hydraulic ramps helped getting it up to the right height.
Would have been easier with another person pressing on the clutch but nothing some pipe couldn't solve
Unfortunately didn't get as far as i wanted as i ran out of nuts.

(Fri & Sat)Temporary fitted bellhousing, starter, gearbox. Temporary fitted ACT manifolds to check for clearance issues on drivers side. Took off box & manifolds, packed them off to Zircotec for ceramic coating. Trial fitting helped sort the best method of fitting too.
(Then I can refit the exhaust, water rails and start her up to proof test the crank seal before the clutch goes in.)

I found this very useful when dealing with gearboxes:Would have been easier with another person pressing on the clutch but nothing some pipe couldn't solve

Fitted a new yellow top battery and cleaned the engine bay.
Gave her a well needed wash.
And fitted some LED strips to improve instrument lighting.
Can you share which LEDs you bought and how easy they were to fit please. My dial lights are terrible so this is a job I need to do.Gave her a well needed wash.

Many thanks

Looks like it is far less rigid now. You happy with it?
Finally getting around to fitting those lenses this weekend.....
Yes very happy, it was just so wrong the way it was. Imagine an engine mount or maybe gearbox mounting going, the extra strain could have possibly damaged the airbox or worse the front scuttle area it's mounted too. Finally getting around to fitting those lenses this weekend.....

Windscreen wipers have not worked since buying the car, wash/wipe works ok and has got me by for the time being.
Finally took the plunge to get the multi-meter out.
Took the steering wheel off and the lower panel to check the ribbon cable. Broke the wire for the wash/wipe connector on the top of the steering wheel boss. Trip to Maplins for some PCB terminal strips (code YW25C) and fix the connector. Replace everything to check it works again.
Made a cup of tea and ate half a packet of ginger nuts feeling thoroughly dejected that I'm back where I started from.
Mine had similar symptoms, no wipers except on wash wipe, and wouldn't stop in the right place. A park switch sorted it - pain to fit though. Finally took the plunge to get the multi-meter out.
