I had mine rebuilt early last year, it was whining a bit, the bearing on the input shaft was damaged.
But I broke that rebuilt one on my way to Berlin in May last year
It was fixed under warranty, but left a lot of play in the driveline.
So I got a new original factory one fitted last week.

Well not quite today but over the weekend I mostly thrashed her round spa, a mighty car round there it suits the Cerbera so well.

Only issues were the exhaust broke a weld that was fixed by the Porsche garage in Francorchamp, and the expansion tank split which didn't really cause an issue drove her home with it split yesterday with no issues.

Epic cars these old things we are lucky enough to drive.

Was there a reason why you went for another Hydratrak diff?

Mine's no better than an open diff most of the time and I'll probably look at getting an ATB or similar fitted next winter.

I originally had a Hydratrak diff, but it needed a rebuild.

Once it was rebuilt I broke it.

So when I got it rebuilt for the second time I had a Cone BTR LSD fitted instead.

With the cone diff it's really really easy to kick the back out and get sideways.. or to put it another way it's really really difficult to get the power down coming out of a bend.

With the Hydratrak, compared to the Cone, it's much harder (or easier.. .depending!) to break traction.

So when I got wind of a brand new factory Hydratrak I jumped at it.

I'm sure the ATB is pretty good and I'm certain there are better options than the ATB.

But I think, for my driving, a Hydratrak is pretty good as well.

And if I want to upgrade I'll have a sound base to build on.

I'd love to get a drive in an ATB diff'd car to compare.

Ok, that's interesting about the cone diff, maybe it was too quick to lock up? It's mainly on track that I miss having a better diff, don't have many issues on the road.
If I can get someone to fit the ATB next year then I'll pass on my findings.

Today i tested my handbrake mode and it works. needs more work but in concept all works well. just need to make new cable holders to give the handbrake cable an nice clean run to the caliper.

Sorry, having a senior moment.. The ATB type is the early 4.2 LSD?

Nope, it's a Quaife Automatic Torque Biasing diff, never fitted as standard to any Cerb. I'm not an expert, but I believe it uses gears to divert torque to the wheel with most grip.

Changed the coil packs but haven't cured the problem. Have downloaded the AJP app so will have a look at the ECU tomorrow. Hopefully it will be something simple like TP's or Lambda breaking down?

I washed the car on Sunday, then took it to fill up with petrol, you know to that station that's a mile away but takes an hour and 45 miles to get to in the big loop.

Then parked the car and the neighbour cut up paving slabs so it was covered in dust and had to be washed again.
