The above looks very good.

I've spent my evening swearing at the rusty mess that is the fuel system in the passengers rear wheel arch. What a bloody awful design!

Shiny chassis arrived back from southways. Started to refit everything. The new powder coat means everything is a tight fit.

Decided against the TVR-parts poly bushes after buying a few samples and went for the Powerflex ones.

My progress is far more pedestrian than Ian's, but I'm getting closer to removing the heads, again.

Had a meet up and a great drive out with Colin (cwharts) although 2mins after start up on a downshift the car cut out!?

I was scared but I the checked silver key (seemed to be in position) then it started up and boy she was like a rocket there after. Have no idea what this ghost was but I knowDom does need to plug it in for an idle tweak. Been putting off for a while but I will get done soon.

Following on from the door seal replacement, I still seem to have a mobile swimming pool. frown

Stripped out the carpet at the end of the drivers footwell and turned the hose onto the outside. Looks to be something at the bulkhead that's leaking - definite flow of water down from the brake pipes. The cover to the clutch M/cyl looked okay last time I checked. It was a bit dark so I'll take the scuttle panel off today and see what I can find.

Progress of some sort... smile

Had the immobiliser kick in last week in the outside lane of the motorway, cut the fuel pump and no starter. Didn't feel like disconnecting the battery on the hard shoulder so got recovered. Thing was fine when we got home, drove it off the recovery truck.

Spent yesterday going through every connection, wire from front to back. Found some insulation nibbled and droppings behind the rear seats but no sign of damaged wiring. Repaired all that and couldn't reproduce the fault even with moving everything around.
Also found the mouse has been nibbling the plastic bag holding the cable ties in my toolchest.

There's currently a mousetrap in the helmet holder space and another 5 surrounding the car in various areas plus two more near his bedding. War has begun
Two mice caught, milky way is the best bait. No further repeated attacks. Drive the car about 150 miles since with no repeat. No working in an estate with dilapidated building so took the car in yesterday for a recce for photos, slightly noisy as I drove between two building so I gave it a little rev and a window pane fell out of the building to my right - whoops.

changed the fuel lines and oil hoses.
fuel lines and filter was breeze.
The oil hoses... what a PITA!
getting them on and off the oil cooler was like working through a letterbox.
Oh well... didn't think it could've been done in one day but all is well smile

just the speedo sensor was a real problem.
It was so stuck, it shattered under the force of my wrench.
Currently drilling out the bloody censored

Hello there,

When you changed the fuel hoses in the rear wheel arch did you swap them for OEM type parts or did you upgrade to braided PTFE or similar? I'm going to have a crack at this myself sometime soon so I need to compile a shopping list.

Cheers

I went for the upgraded braided stuff.
I changed the ones in the wheel arch, the fuel filter and the fuel lines in the engine bay.
All went pretty smoothly. the hose from filter to pipe is a bit hard to get to but doable.

Presumably you made up the hoses yourself then?

I can't recall what's at the back end for the tank to filter, etc. Is it all just hoses or are there some hardlines in there too?

Cheers

It's not exactly PTFE hose.
I ordered 3 hoses from TVR parts and made the rest up myself.
They used double ply rubber hoses with a thicker wall then the OEM hoses and stainless steel overbraided .
I did the same with the rest.
The hardline coming from the tank is the tricky one. the hose is on there with a compression fitting.
You need a 14 & 15mm wrench. hold the hose end with the 15 & undo the nut with the 14.
It does help if you have 2 elbows in your arm and fingers that turn the other way biggrin

Up early and fitted my new p/s aero wiper blade. Went for a 13" so nicely curved and reduces the lift around curve of glass. Will be fitting a stealth hybrid blade on drivers side I think.

Also ordering some alloy foot pedals so will be into the footwell today to see how they are removed to get the new ones in.

Any chance of a link to those blades. I fitted some "these are for a cerbera, honest" blades off eBay and they're crap. they miss the middle 3" of the blade length, you know, the bit you look through.

I got this one for passenger side

http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&alt=...

And for the drivers side I will be getting this one (hybrid)

Had that issue with my dads wipers, it may not be the blade... It could be the wiper arm needs bending as it's not applying enough force through the mid point of the blade? We warmed the metal up first then put a slight bend and it's better.

That might help

They list it as 15" minimum, not 13". Will that work ?

Hi frog, the drivers side is 17" in all honesty I'll be getting a 16" so their is no chance overlapping the lower windscreen rubber. The 15"minimum would be ok I suppose but I do want as much rain cleared as possible (while still looking good of course)

The other one I listed was a 13" (aero flat blade) and works great for the passenger side

I think a 15" on the passenger side is just too long, that would be on the sharpest part of the curve and no wiper could maintain its form around that so I think would look messy and on the lower edge I also think it would foul the rubber.

Hope that helps
