Bled clutch again but no good. Think the fingers have gone.
There goes my drive to Rome next month :-(
Edit: pedal restored! There was air in it. I had the bleed nipple open too much, which doesn't get rid of the air.
The trip is back on although the slave is definitely leaking so I'll be taking loads of dot4 with me

Clutch Master cylinder remove and replace, had its moments of difficulty (that ruddy bottom bolt), however my 10 year old was sent down the footwell as chief spannerer and pedal pusher to bleed the system. We were quite pleased after with a firm clutch pedal and clean gearchange only to discover the throttle cable is frayed and not letting the engine idle. So I'll be sending the poor lad back down the footwell to fix the new cable in place, not a good place to be!
Decided to replace the Crank Sensor and Oil Pressure Relief Spring since access is so easy for me right now. Spring was about 0.5mm less than new replacement, but more interestingly the crank sensor looks like it has really suffered - still works though.

I drilled a large hole in the fibreglass by the bottom bolt, after fitting new master cylinder I just glued in a rubber grommet. Made it a hell of a lot easier. Throttle cable replaced! Goes down as the worst job I have ever done on the Cerb, especially trying to refit the top hat rubber with nylon collar through the bracket. The routing around the pedal box wasn't to difficult, if you take off the clutch master cylinder cover and feed the new cable through bulkhead into footwell then through hole in pedal box to master cylinder area, then back around brake servo down to accelerator pedal. Simples!! I removed the fibreglass hand shaped thingy from the aircon inlet and the pedal which made it easier to bend my head up and back in the most obscure way. Great job for limbo training and expletive exercises, so keep youngsters away.
Well not today but recently made up a pair of these Supertrapp tuneable silencers for trackdays. Have found them to be a really good system, the more discs you add the higher the flow, but greater the noise. Fewer discs give a less noise, but less flow
I had a good result on a recent trackday, took my normal "quiet" exhaust from 110db at 0.5m to 103db with 24 discs in each tailpipe.
Have tried with 18, and 12 discs in each tailpipe, definitely quieter - I could get a 12db reduction with 12 discs but the engine is severely restricted. Using 24 discs in each I haven't noticed any difference in performance

I considered Supertrapp, but decided to go for these inserts instead. I packed them with wadding to maximise their effect.Apparently they are good for 450 bhp without curtailing power, and I can't feel any difference in performance. I've only used them at the TVR NL Zolder trackday but they definitely helped me avoid the dreaded black flag. I drilled holes and used steel ties to ensure they stayed in place.

They definitely look neater. I had a look at some different inserts but they wouldn't fit into my tailpipe - I have the ACT system with the "silencer" built into the flare of the tailpipe. So I went the other way and welded the Supertrapp flange to a 3 inch sleeve to fit on the outside. Makes them easy to fit and remove at the trackEdited by MoonMonkey on Sunday 11th October 22:56

Don't suppose you took any pictures during your throttle cable change did you? Was it on a Speed six Cerb?I've recently rubbed down the roof of my £5400 Cerbera as the lacquer had peeled. I did have it wrapped but it wasn't good enough so I've taken off the wrap and rubbed the roof down today to perfection. I'll get the respray completed and will also have the wheels done at the same time. I have Saturns on it at the moment but these lose the effect. I have a set of spiders which make the Cerb really skittish but look amazing. The Cerb is silver and I'll get the spiders powder coated in anthracite.

Jonty, I saw in another post you have broken your cable. If you PM me I have a repair cable which is unused, Racing green sold it to me but I now realise it must be for a Speed six looking on their website. You can have it FOC.I have got a few pics of the pedal end connector which must be similar to Speed six, that's the bit that was an absolute PITA to replace. The repair cable is just the inner cable with a bead one end and a removable allen keyed block on the other to allow it to be fed through the existing cable case.Demondad said:
