Yesterday approaching traffic lights with 3 lanes and an idiot in a Golf GT decided to weave around to get in front of me at the lights. Grand prix start to the next lights just 100m ahead which were red. So pulled alongside and taught him not to mess with a Cerb. Childish but bl##dy satisfying...
;}One needs to promote the marque whenever the opportunity permits!
I'm on holiday, wanting to get back and get my hands on lumpy....
Its a pain removing the ECU from its hidey-hole and unscrewing the lid to connect for diagnostics so took the lid off the ECU, cut a hole in it, fitted 2, 9 pin connectors - one male to male and one female to female - so that the 9 pin connector is now above the lid. Sealed it with silicone goo and routed the 9 pin to USB lead to a covenient location under the steering wheel.

Pics please. Am about to rig up a cable for Aide's Android diagnostics so think I might do something similar to this. Thanks!

Mine has this done by the previous owner. He's also added a plastic nozzle, I think he said from a hair dryer, so that the cable doesn't get trapped or kinked.fr0zent0ast said:

Location of the ECU
ECU and heater control module
Serial plug in the ECU
With the 'gender changers' fitted
The problem now was that the lead was sticking up too high so when the ECU was put back the lead was pushed over. So removed the gender changers, enlarged the hole in the lid and fitted the lead directly. I sealed it with silicone sealant.
Then ran the USB extension lead across the car behind the dash and under the steering wheel where it is bound up. The end is simply tucked away at the side but so easy to get to with the laptop. If using a smart phone you might want to terminate near the centre somewhere under the radio?

The cable is like this one.

Should you decide to use the 'gender changer' then these are they.

And you will need a USB extension lead to reach from the footwell to wherever you want the terminal.

You can download the software from the TVR Site.

And yes, it works absolutely perfectly.

I visited mine. Almost ready for collection tomorrow. I have a V8 F-Type today and suspected I wouldn't want the Cerb. I'm pleased to say that my wife's XFR-S is more fun to drive than the F-Type V8S although the latter does make a better noise, and I'm looking forward to bringing the Cerbera home. Whichever of the journos said the V8S was TVRish didn't know much about TVRs. It's a nice car and does everything well in an objective sense. Like the Ferrari California I tried though, it's just not very interesting to drive.
