Dropped it off at the paint shop today for a nice shiny new coat of paint. Going from ocean haze to yellow. I just have to decide which yellow.
No No NoOcean Haze looks wonderful, Yellow can be a bit flat. And it's going to set you back how much? £5k?

One small cock-up was that I left the protective film on the carbon fibre dash until I had assembled it. Bad move.
I now have little bits of the film trapped under the small bezels which no one else will notice but I will
Just one thing that really got to me is, why oh why do they supply square cross section rubber gaskets and not proper 'o' rings when refurbishing the clocks (sit between the bezel and dash face)? Stopping them from twisting is a pain in the

For the first time in over 6 months my wee beasty turned a wheel in anger last night. No issues reported except the cooling system needed bleeding a little more. As a result I drove it to Xworks Service this morning for valve clearances, general inspection and an MOT. Fingers crossed...

Service including Diff, Gearbox, Engine and Brakes replenishment, Chassis and components wash where applicable and re-routing of windscreen washer delivery pipes (I know that doesn’t sound like a job but I have struggled to find summat which looks good but is still liveable- with considering the number of times that the windscreen valence has to be removed – am now, finally, happy) .
When you say “today” I actually started at the beginning of Feb but that’s more down to my snail’s pace of progress than the difficulty of the tasks.
It’s 28 degrees so after a good wash I’m gonna go and rip some tarmac up

I read on the Cerb FB page of a guy that swapped the speedo and rev counter so his missus couldn't see how fast he was going One small cock-up was that I left the protective film on the carbon fibre dash until I had assembled it. Bad move.

Today and for the last 5 days I have been actually driving mine! After spending a fortune on it last year on a full body off chassis and suspension restore at RT and months with Joolz for a mechanical refurb I put it away last year in full working order.
I pulled it out of the garage last week and the immobiliser packed up after changing the battery. I fitted a new one and the clutch dumped it's load on the floor. So it's been off to Brendan for everything between the clutch pedal rubber and flywheel, including the bell housing. Then I discovered that the NS spiders were on the wrong ends and the fronts were rubbing so I swapped them around and now it's just about perfect. I cured the exhausts rattling on the bottom of the diff. Even the aircon works, although it also works even when it's switched off. Can't have it all I suppose.
It's actually now a pleasure to drive but still tainted by the thought in the back of mind, WTF will fall off next. I was beginning to really hate it but throwing nearly 20k at it seems to have done the trick for now. I think the only bits left that came out of the factory with it are the interior, diff and engine block. The diff is sadly going to be next, it's OK for now but gently whispering in my ear that it would appreciate a rebuild over the winter. I keep getting tempted by some nice interior retrim pictures but my Mrs is tempted by a nice holiday somewhere sunny and I'm not going to win that argument.

Finally got around to removing all the stickers from the car, (seemed the previous owner(s) were partial to a few hundred Pistonheads stickers, amongst others) and fitted the front splitter. You can just about make it out in the pic below, hidden in the shadows. Not one for the purists, but very subtle in real life, easily removed and actually seems to reduce the effect of the bonnet lifting, although possible just psychological as it isnt as far under the car as the non cosmetic ones.
Also swapped out my flaking book badge for a new one which is an exact replica, made by a guy recommended on here.

Then washed it and went for a blast and seemed to have got water somewhere as it was running like it was being choked for the first 15 mins, then loosened up.
Next up, adjust the bonnet, wheel refurb and paint.
Love this car!!

Took the Cerb out for its first proper shakedown drive (had only driven round the block since getting the back end, suspension, brakes, wheels back on and firing up after a year or so sat in a garage.)#
Adjusted the throttle stop and it now does not stall out at junctions but will be going in for ECU reset and set up as bit rough and I have swapped Lambda's.
Drove well and pulled well if slightly hesitant until 2k and brakes needed further bleeding.
Removed caliper due to snapped nipple and dropped at the machine shop for repair.
Popped into Southways TVR for a chat about my non opening boot.
Getting there!!

After spotting a speed six engine bay at the Bespoke BBQ with silicone hoses (other than for coolant and rad pipes) I popped into garage for a measure up. I'll be changing both my oil breather hose and Air intake rubber hoses to Silicone ones(to mate the rest).
On taking the big Intake one off I noticed it had collapsed at the inlet area by the clamp anyway so a change would be imminent.
Then got straight on the phone JS Performance to have some custom red ones made up got a good deal as I ordered lengths of 0.5m.
Breather= Fluoro-Lined with 22mm ID
Air Intake= normal silicone with 127mm ID
Also my missile switches arrived so now just awaiting the fabrication of an engine turned panel to house them. Rad cooling fan override, ABS and TCS (The later can be connected when the knock MBE goes in with 4.7 rebuild)

12,000 mile service completed 2 weeks ago by Str8six. Jason said the valve clearances were all
over the place and it took half a day to sort, but there are no signs of wear (hooray!). Other issues addressed:
O/S washer jet fixed
Brake warning light no longer stays on (after cleaning contacts on brake fluid reservoir)
N/s Air intake duct replaced because of split
O/S airbox fixings replaced
Proper fixings put on oil cooler hose to stop it falling onto front pulley.
Fuel hose at filter perished, so replaced.
Main oil hose from filter to block replaced
bonnet badge fitted
Sports rear silencers replaced with original ones to offend neighbours marginally less.
Replace water rail bleeds
