Which oil do you use...

Little thread resurrection
Found this article on oils and it's pretty interesting.
Yes it's american and it's from a few years ago but I like that scratch test.
They lubricate a bearing and do a scratch test where they try to break through the film by adding weight
and rotating it against a race.
Some have 8mm scratches from just 2 lbs of weight, other just a 1mm with 8 lbs of weight.
so there's definitely a big difference between oils and some real surprises
Bloody hell that Royal Purple stuff looks awesome

Good find! Funniky enough I went to a Mazda club meet and sat through a penrite presentation about their oils and what all of the different numbers and letters meant. Didn't realise how good they were in comparison. I am currently using using Morris and the car had great pressure form coldduringg hot weather etc. Now I am in a US though looks like I will be changing brands!

Im still trying to bed in the oil seals (slowly slowly) and am running 20/50 mineral from Halfords!
I was led to believe it takes 30min to bed in a new oil seal.I applied this method when changing the rear crank seal.
Ran it for 30mins at 2k (no load speed), checked for leaks all ok.
Anyone with any more insight on oil seal bedding in?
