I'd hadn't seen this before, and it makes for amusing reading

Only a couple of obvious inaccuracies that I could spot

Sounds like it was written at a time when TVR were still up and running so a lot of the information is out of date. They really wanted to hammer home the unreliable aspect that was so popular about TVR at the time!

I just emailed them asking if I could redraft it to bring it more up to date and to correct factual errors.

Only half the time!

What I really had in mind was getting the collective to proof read and suggest improvements to anything I did. I just thought it would be easier to coordinate a single point of contact with them if they were receptive to the idea smile

Wouldn't the collective opinion be that they are the fastest car on the road, sound the best, look the best and are exceptionally reliable?

There's a risk of that. I do think that obvious errors like "shearing clutch release arms" can be corrected however and issues such as unhelpful dealers could be updated with "excellent parts availability and a number of very well respected companies are available around the country to help maintain these cars" - for example.

My intention certainly wouldn't be to lie about them, but there are points in the article which are just wrong, and there are points which sound very offputting to potential owners but are massively out of date.

Only takes a few letters:

"failing clutch slave seals"

Indeed. However if someone Googles that they'll get lots of threads pop up with realistic costs and solutions. If they Google "shearing clutch release arms" they'll get nowt and it could all remain a big scary mystery smile
