Can I cut this ......?

Guys, in the photo below, the little fin/lug/random piece of engine circled bumps against the exhaust manifold in a rather annoying fashion at certain RPM. Any reason I shouldn't skim a couple of mm off the lug to prevent this? Doesn't look like it has a particular function, but thought I'd best check.......

Yes. I had the same and chopped it off with a hacksaw.

Sweet! I may try a small angle grinder, much greater chance of inflicting self harm that way! Hospital here I come....
