Pretty sure the Ford engine is Coyote derived? If so, then it's a relative of the AJ-V8 Gen III Jaguar 5.0 engine which definately won't fit.

A manufacturer was planning on using a Yamaha / Volvo V8 a few years ago - I recall reading something in EVO mag.

Yeah it's the Yamaha engine. That engine was touted around a lot of manufacturers before Volvo picked it up. Pretty good engine by all accounts.

No sorry, all I know it will be 5.2 but as mentioned above it's going to be to wide to fit with out modding the chassis,

But they do make a flat plane conversion for the Ls engine

...or the new Chevy LT1 engine. Strange to hop back to an old name, especially as it's an evolution of the LS..

I've seen the Lingenfelter flat plane LS, and it does sound pretty AJP like, but I believe don't the parts used are available for general consumption. From what I remember the crank for it was made in the UK and being bespoke it'll be a few k on its own.

I have that engine in my XC90 and it very good, it is smooth, free revving and sounds good, it is also very narrow for a 4.4V8 which might be helpful.
