Interesting - ad says pending payment
http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/t...

Meanwhile I've forwarded it to someone I know who is looking.
Fu(k, I didn't think it'd be moved on that fast

I was told he doesn't keep cars too long but I admit I thought it was to be his car for a while at least

redface

As for the payment .... yeah it hasn't arrived yet

I have a ferry booked for during the week but if the money's not in I won't be sailing anywhere

I was told it was paid but nothing has shown up yet in my bank account

frown

Re the price ... yeah he's going to make a few bob on it if he sells it for that but not a huge profit

That's a well sorted Cerbera so if someone is looking for one they'd not go too far wrong with that one

Be warned!! Unless you have cash in hand from the buyer, most forms of bank transfer can be reversed at a later date. Please be very careful, it is not unheard of for people to end up losing both the car and the money!

If that was me, and seen my 'buyer' flip the car even before he's got it, unless I needed the cash for life saving surgery (and please listen to Tanguero's warning) Id be on the phone telling them as impolitely as possible to f@ck right off.

Why oh why do these bloody plastic cars give so much grief

redface

I'm at the VRT export office (need to have it checked before it leaves to see how much the government will "give me back" when I export it) and on the way here I've had trouble selecting gear and there's an oily smell

Slave cylinder on the way out??????

Ha ha probably

rolleyes

Yeah well today didn't go to plan ....

Three p!keys came into the centre while I was there and looked to have a car checked and kicked off when they were told they'd have to wait their turn, etc.

When they were asked to wait outside the started to play the "Are you dicrimitaing us boss? Is it 'cos we're traaaaaavellers boss?" card which eventually resulted in the Gardai (police) being called and the rest of us told the centre was closing for the day and we'd have to re-book our appointments.

frown

Not much use to me as without the inspection the VRT rebate won't be paid to me and without that rebate the price I'm getting off the buyer is way too low to sell the car for.

Talk about days turning to sh!t eh?

The mad thing is I'm not in a position where I need to sell it, it can actually stay here and it won't make one bit of difference to my life, but I just stuck it up for sale as I wasn't using it enough.

The mad road tax rates we discussed earlier were my main reason for letting it off to someone who'd use it more.

Oh it might all be sorted tomorrow and may still head off as scheduled .... and then again it might be still here next year.

smile

We shall see .....

Just seen this thread, mate.

Utterly gutted that you're gonna be leaving 'The House'.
You have helped me so many times in the past.
Hope everything gets better with the sale process and
hope you win the Lotto and renew your Cerb ownership.

(Also thanks for telling us about your tax costs.
I thought I was the only one suffering at 641 euro -
don't feel sooo bad now)

All the best ! thumbup

I remember that when I bought my Cerb, it took like a week and the money was on the Seller's account (that was including a banking holiday).
By the way, I just noticed that he removed his add in NL, dont expect the Cerb to be sold, guess he was simply here on PH...

I am wondering what he will say to his potential buyer, because there is no COC (well some people do have a COC ;-) )
But he does not have it...

The situation at present is that following the incident with the p!keys yesterday my export check is now rescheduled for next week.

To be fair the buyer did transfer his payment, it showed today, and we've now agreed to sort out a refund for him and the car is going nowhere for the moment.

This situation came about purely through issues at my end, the buyer was the innocent victim in all this.

I've a few hours tax left on the car so I'm off out for a mini-hoon shortly to use that up.

biggrin

As to what I'll do with the car now .... I don't know really.

If the buyer decides he still wants it once my paperwork is in order then the sale will proceed but other than that I'd say I'll just keep it (the "hole" I had lined up for the money is no longer there so I'm not bothered if it stays).

Anyway I'm off to do my bit for global warming between now and midnight .....

wink

Sorry to hear about your possible sale, sad it's come to that. Thanks for your support and the telephone advice you gave me, it was invaluable at a time when I thought all was lost.

I probably moan as much as most in the UK about the way the motorist is regularly fleeced - but the reality is that we have it easy compared with the rest of Europe. I idly investigated the possibility of shipping a cheap 4ltr Chim to my regular European holiday destination, and discovered that even with the 50% discount for being over ten years old, it would still cost €20k in import duty (for a car with a purchase price of €6k), and that is before insurance and annual road tax. Insane.

Right, I'm home

That's the tank emptied .... and I enjoyed emptying it

biggrin

Well it'd be dangerous parking up a car with too much fuel in it eh?

Safety first and all that
