Hi Everyone, I hope you'll undulge me with some noob questions, and especially those that I could answer for myself if only it wasn't dark and wet outside...
- What is the bore of each Speed 6 throttle?
- which of the two exhaust downpipes corresponds to which manifold? (I have a misfiring and farting right pipe, smooooth left)
- Where is the engine ECU?
- With the Lupo headlight conversion, how is adjustment accomplished? They appear to be servo controlled.
- Am I right that there's no euxiliary air control for cold start to ensure consistent idle?
- does anyone know the OD of the standard downpipes where they meet the original rear box? (My car appears to have fractionally larger pipes, just to be annoying)
- What is this sensor?:
Thanks for taking the time, I'm sure to come back with more dumbass queries...

Easy, tiger...
It doesn't match the oil or water senders I found online when I looked erlier, bit looks like an old school mechanical sender judging by the "wire":
Ah. Here we go

Well that answers one question I forgot to ask - the temp sender is actually part of the engine and not in a pipe, so one can trust it!
Here's another one, why is the V8 referred to as "the AJP" when both the speed 6 and 8 are AJP engines?

I believe that is just a misnomer. Both engine formats have been referred to as "AJP" and "Speed". Just as they have both been referred to as "wonderful" and "crap".(This is of course given the understanding that you know that AJP refers to the three engineers who chipped-in with design ideas)

Isn't it because one is called the AJP8 and one is called the Speed Six? That is, after all, what they have on the rocker covers/fuel rail.
The story goes that Al Melling, John Ravenscroft and Peter Wheeler designed the AJP8 engine. They also designed a nice new 4-valve per cylinder straight 6. Peter Wheeler fell out with Al Melling though and didn't fancy paying royalties for Melling's consultancy, so a few aspects of the design were frigged about with to differ an produced as the Speed Six.Maybe.
The trouble with TVR is that so much of the history is embellished and/or twisted.
