That cls is going to be a problem cyclone .. just looked at some underside pics on the net and there's nowhere to strap it down ? the rear arms that are normally used appear to have plastic covers, and at 470bhp (maybe more knowingyou !) it's going to need plenty of strapping. might have to give that one a miss.

No worries Jools, I've only had it three weeks but it's seen some Dyno time already. The plastic covers are just that and can be clipped off (on many they fall off eventually anyway). I ran my old CLS on Charlie's with no issues but he's done many 55's. It should be running close to 600 so yes needs to be fairly well strapped down.

Good to see you are well and may still pop over on the day to see some you and the Cerberas.....

Important please read ..

Very sadly I am going to have to cancel this day .. I have an ongoing issue with my dyno and it's got to the point where I can't trust it to perform properly on any given day. It would be my luck that on the shootout day it didn't operate properly so I have to reluctantly call it off. many thanks to Aide for being understanding and sympathetic!
If anyone has outstanding costs for hotels etc please message me and I will reimburse anyone who has paid out in good faith and has to cancel their bookings.
Sorry about that chaps but I've lost faith in the dyno to be consistent so my hand is kind of forced.
best wishes

pity about that, was looking forward to popping down and meeting everyone, hope the dyno issues get resolved and it can be rearranged soon.

Surrey rolling road has a free Saturday on the 2 May and the 13th June. Could it be re-arranged for this venue and 1 of the dates. They are in Farnborough and if we let Charlie know he is happy to accommodate us.
I think we would need to move quick to get the booking for the day.

I am up for it!

Another option Noble motorsport in Chesterfield can fit us all in on the 25th April, so same day same town different dyno. £45 a car but again we must move quick if we want the rollers for the day.

Sorry to hear of your dyno troubles, hopefully we can re arrange for another day.
I would rather run on Jools rollers as its where the car has been before so hopefully another time later in the year?

Fair play to Joolz, honesty is a rare commodity nowadays. Hope he get's it sorted soon as I fancy a visit sometime.
Of course there is always a straight line shoot out available at 'Shakey' 18-4-15. Easy enough and have chance to meet other TVR owners, just a thought. hippy

A change of venue would be fine by me, I'd happily run down to charlie's new place for instance.
A new dyno is on the cards but it hinges on me selling my house to pay for it.

Really ... Surely you can find another way to fund it?

The dyno isn't the reason for selling .. the house is for sale anyway .. but selling it releases all my money to do other things .. eg buy dyno, restore stag, buy tuscan sp6 etc etc maybe an mgb v8 if I can find a good one at the right price .. i've already spent the money from the house many times over in my dreams hehe

Ummmmm,

How much is a Dyno ??

Mr. Dullo

(I asked this of an Australian supplier some time ago and was treated if I had asked to marry into the Royal family. What's the Fuss ? It's a piece of engineering equipment !)

an entry level 2 wheel drive that gives numbers you'd want to believe start at around 28k. Numerous add-ons to make your life easier or to start you of if you don't already own other equipment (auto weather station, fans etc) can easily add another 5-10k depending what you go for. When i first started out with my own dyno about 10 years ago I spent just over 40k setting it all up. And that's a bare minimum install with a good known make of dyno into a workshop you already have.
