I finally have the papers i need to het her homologated.
But i need to switch the headlights to LHD.
Someone told me that the Mk2 lights have to be adjusted, not replaced.
But I really really really don't see how.
Anybody on the continent who has done this before?

So i can finally get my plates (if i pass emissions test frown)

Hi Nils.
If you take the Front wheels off, look at the front of the wheel arches.
Buried under the road crap there are some oval panels, retained by three self-tapping screws.
After you remove these panels you can peer down towards the back of the light mechanism.
The dipped bulbs are retained by 3 (IIRC) screws, one of these is earth. Loosen this one, remove the other two.
Turn the bulb housing 120 degrees clockwise (which will move the "dead" portion from the nearside to the offside) and replace the screws/panels.
Voila ! Your dipped beams have now become LHD !

Don't forget that you have to swap the wiring over for the fog and reversing lights in the boot.
(I had to fit an external rear number plate light as well for Luxembourg)

If you have the mk2 lights than you can just turn them however i dont know how many degrees. We have done this on my cerb and all is fine. Think we did it in less than 1 hour.

I've done this a few times; when I took the car to Germany and also preparing the car for export to Belgium. You do simply lossen the 2 or 3 retaining screws on the rear of the light assembly, pull the light back slightly (it is located in pre-manufactured 'grooves') and then rotate which ever way is required. There are only two positions that the light will locate - as you push the light forward you will feel it locate. Then re-tighten the screws.

Clearance is very tight - getting your hand in there with a screw driver whilst turning and holding the light etc. I cut larger access holes in the GRP arch liner to make this task easier, and simply pressed a thin aluminium inspection cover in place, secured using rivnuts.

That's really true - we had one case of a LHD configured headlight laminated in RHD position eek - pain in ... to get that fixed.

That's right, but i think I'd like to think I've got a very rare 'easy' car biggrin
I could even pull out my exhaust manifolds without touching the engine thumbup
