When you say straight pipes you mean straight through and no silencing at all? If so i think it will be horrendously loud no chance of track days and annoying on long journeys, i have a big bore system which has two bullet style silencers towards the rear and that is ample noisy enough it flames and bangs like an 88mm howitzer and can be a bit wearing on long motorway journeys.

I have a set the same as that which is free if you arrange collection. The flanges at the front were cut off and used on their quieter replacement so will need recycling from what you have and welded on
That sounds like a plan at least it would give me a good idea how it would be to live with before I spend a fortune having one made...where were they cut presumably after the de-cat pipes?I had a similar discussion to this with Andy at APM who suggested not to do this as it would get annoying. I've seen video's and think that the sound is just too raw. I have sports pipes on mine anyway and they give a really good sound (IMHO). Its enough too set off lots of car alarms in car parks!!know that people do take of the cats and have straight through pipes and replace the cats for MOT etc. Its just my personal view though and if you don't like your neighbours go for it!!!!

There's a flanged join somewhere around the gearbox. AFAIK the exhaust place did not need to remove the undertray. There're a couple of cherry bombs but little else. It's loud, but not so's it'd scare the police. Too annoying for me on the 300 mile trip home so getting rid was one of the first things I did. I'm in Wiltshire BTW.I had the ACT sports system on mine and got rid after a few years, just too loud.
I not have the quiet system and finally can get onto track days without sweating when noise tested and I get out of the old girl after a long drive and can still hear.
She still makes a lovely noise when you give it some beans, a really nice guttural growl from the back of the car so in my head the best all round solution.

Do a search for "KNIGHT" on here. I bought my Cerb off of him and he had some straight through pipes for sale. He might still have them.....
I sold them not long after selling you the car Not sure I'd recommend doing it as the noise was not just louder but raspier and I think that spoilt it to be honest.

I have spent years trying to make mine quieter to ensure I can pass 105dB, but I've found it's still loud enough to make people jump - don't you agree?
That was my problem when I went to Goodwood the other year, I was about 109dB, and that was trying to keep the revs down. So on went the ugly trackday silencers.Gassing Station | Cerbera | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
