Steve I have just realised I never responded to your email from several weeks ago, very sorry! I ended up having some made by cometic (long story), but the standard ones are readily available from TVR parts? I wasn't informed of any trouble, in fact I already had a set which were going to go on but had to change plans.
Thanks Rob, no problem here. I needed some for some development work and got some from TVR Parts. Steve, reading things back through, are you suggesting that because a particular gasket type was not available there might be issues with the V8 engine? My concern was just that there might be an issue with what I'd bought. I don't recall any particular issues with the standard AJP gaskets and I think this might be the reason why no other is available.
Hi Rob I hope you have your Cerb back and all is well with the repair, MLS gaskets are very common on modern cars I have fitted a few, Cometic do off the shelf gaskets in two thicknesses for the V8 AJP, so Im sure its these which they were selling, There seems to be two types of composite gaskets or it may now be just the one from the TVR boys, I have not been informed of any problems with them,BUT there are lots of old cars out there with original gaskets still in use, the AJP on the other hand dont seem to want to keep its factory gasket. Back to the start lol the MLS gaskets that must have been fitted at sometime did they fail or is it down to politics as to why no longer supplied
