There seems to be no way to adjust the early type of seats correctly for me.
I can either go for laid back/reclined, but not reach the wheel anymore, or bend continuously and still bump my head.
I would love removable cushions as there are in the later Tuscan style seats. Has anybody tried to modify the earlier seats accordingly?
It must be cheaper than an Orthopaedist?

Cheers

With the early seats in my 4.2 I was able to remove the runners and bolt them directly to the floor, the holes are the same spacing. This saved a few inches of height. I've since fitted a racing seat to lower it even more. This approach will only work of the distance to the pedals can work too.

Flatplane, I'm thinking of going with a race seat (as I'm lanky). Which seat have you installed? There isn't much width between the centre tunnel and the door, did you need to cut any fibreglass away on the tunnel?

Have you adjusted the pedals and steering?

Hi, I'm also quite tall so had the same problem. The seat I've got is an old 'bride' one, I think it's Japanese. The critical dimension with Cerberas is the shoulder width of race seats, as the doors slope inwards slightly.

I trimmed the corners of my seat to get it as low as possible between the mounting plates which works well for me. I intended to just use my cheap race seat to test the mounting points, but ten years later, it's still in there.......

I'm tall so it was impossible to wear a helmet in my chim.

I fitted Elise seats without their runners.

What seats actually fit in a cerbera?

I've seen the Elise ones above but not many more.

Read somewhere that Focus Rs seats would fit.

80's recaros might and they would come withthe tilt facility to get in the back.

mk1 Audi TT have been fitted to an Chim but not sure if they have the tilt facility. http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...

Didn't someone post up pics of some Starion seats recently?

The original Cerbera seats look better than the TT seats.

I've seen the Sag/Tamora/T350 seats installed, looks very good but they are like hens teeth to find.

If the Focus RS seats were to fit, they'd look really good in my opinion.

Porsche 'Tombstones' should fit, have the tilt facility but would have a thick base.
