can anyone recommend a good garage to get my tappetts and shims done in the Essex area

I am based out near Maldon and travel over to Bespoke in Ware, Herts for servicing, etc. Great guys, always happy with their work. Not aware of anyone based in Essex.

For 12k service with valve shim adjustment you really want to take it to a TVR specialist who knows what they are doing.

I used to take my T350 to Str8six who are based in Oxfordshire. They are very good.

I agree. It's not just a valve clearence check. So much more can be identified at the same time, state of health i.e. cam & bucket issues, oil flow to journals, overheating, valve collet and valve stem wear.
Experienced eyes will help with preventative maintance, if you get my drift.

It woudl be useful to know which dealers we think are good for this. Also I would be interested to know what is the expected level of service, for instance would you expect them to record and tell you the actual tappet clearances.
