What's the latest best flavour in tyres for the Cerbera
Discussion
Just got mine up and running again after a few years laid up, besides being 7 years old I think the tyres have gone a bit square on me too, so I'm looking to change them for something new. It would also be nice to actually get the power down with something a bit grip pier than the old Falkens too.........
Looking to get something that's at the fast road end of the spectrum but a little shy of track tools such as R888's/A048's. I tried to get a set of Yoko AD08R's but nowhere has them actually in stock despite numerous websites prepared to say they have, ring them up and no they don't. It seems like there is at least a 6 week wait for the next shipment to hit our shores. So I'm looking for your collective Thoughts chaps on what else is out there, first hand experience please, I tend to find it more helpful than 'my mates second uncle once found himself in a ditch after trying linglong xxx's' iykwim....

I would wait for the yoko's and drive like a granny in the meantime.
I have them on two of my cars and they are fantastic. Worth the wait for one of the best track derrived tyres out there. (My lowly humble opinion of course)
My research led me to them and sort of agree with the waiting bit. they are obviously popular hence none available, unless someone else knows where some are can track some down?I have them on two of my cars and they are fantastic. Been for a blat today, I think the centrifugal forces acting on the tyre are making the rear tyres less square, so I might be able to live with it a bit longer and thus order the AD08R's after all.
One thing that is really fking me off today is the new rear pads are fking rattling like a bag of loose nails in a glass bottle, my exhaust is pretty loud and I can hear them above that......also nearly pulled a tank of fresh fuel through it now so the rough running was as I suspected old fuel. However my light throttle response is poor and makes me suspect I might even have a corrupt map or something. But I'll wait until I've put a few mores miles on it first....
Cerberas, got to love them.....

I have fitted AD08Rs to my griff and so far I am really impressed, dry grip seems better than the T1Rs I had before and the reinforced trye wall seems to work well.
I will be interested to get them on track and see how they perform, what I did like about the Toyos is they gave a fair bit of squeel before letting go so easy to know when you are getting near the limit. I will be interested to see how the AD08s are at the limit and how progressive the breakaway is.
Also yet to try rain, they do like like they may be a bit scary, no nice V pattern to channel away water like the T1Rs.

I found my light and slow speed throttle response improved dramatically when I had my throttle bodies reconditioned by Powers. Made it a lot easier to drive around town.Cerberas, got to love them.....

I run the V70a in the medium compound, on my 5th or 6th set now.
I find they suit the Cerbera perfectly, not great in standing water but otherwise OK in the wet, but very good in the dry.
The stiff side wall does compromise the ride a little but they are a great tyre on a Cerbera.
What wheels? V70a's are only in hard compound for 17" RL7s..I find they suit the Cerbera perfectly, not great in standing water but otherwise OK in the wet, but very good in the dry.

To be clear, I'm looking for a 99% fast road tyre. I'm unlikely to go out in heavy rain just need to be sure that if it rains whilst out I don't end up in a ditch, with perhaps the occassional track day. Hence my original desire for the AD08R.
Whats the V70A like as a road tyre, is it in the same mold as the R888? I thought the R1R was supposed to be a more everyday version of the R888, is it really likely to overheat with mainly road use?

It is mostly at home in the dry but I have not had any scary moments in the many years I have been using them.Whats the V70A like as a road tyre, is it in the same mold as the R888? I just drive to the conditions and all is well.
