Well said! I think to really wind up the club and the NEW car owners is to have my Speed Six 4.7 rebuild to be handed back to me (after a full showroom valet) the day the new car hits the road, then we can talk values... lol
You having the 4.7! Will be interesting to get feedback from that!
As you know Chris Ive been umming and arring for so long on what to go for.

But after hearing what the LS guys say about not needing TCS even with their 6.3s with the correct diff then I think the extas are not a must if the correct setup of whats there. So I was then thinking OK I'll go 4.5 from what Dom says then he said there will be a very well priced 4.7 on offer so I am now thinking rather than be feeling like maybe I should have... I'll just go for it.

Oh and with TVR announcing a 4.5 cosworth V8 I wanted to trump that too

When finally done I'll be telling all about it.

I thought the Cossie lump was going to be a 5.0ltr or 5.2, not a piddly 4.7 hehe

So that was worth waiting for...Or B!

What a load of utter tosh and show of nothing but contempt.
Guess the only way to show my level of displeasure is to part ways with the club, which in all honesty I don't feel will be too much of a loss.

If any club members in Somerset fancy taking on the DRO role to support Paul, please let me know.

Very disappointed.

Tbh I based my guess on the Ford Coyote 5.0 block which in Vodoo trim is now a 5.2, flat plane, 8200rpm red line 520hp screamer. I really like to think Cosworth will at least match that for TVR.... I

My copy of Sprint dropped on the mat this morning....
I must admit I don't want to be part of any club that responds in this manner, their arrogance is beyond belief jester therefore I'm out come renewal time. I'm sure losing a few Cerb owners won't hurt their coffers too much. byebye

Just curious why this is isolated to the Cerb forum, the valuation on the tuscan was equally 'ambiguous' but doesn't seem to have created as big an issue, or is this the focal point for the anger around the valuations.

For those of us who don't get Sprint, can someone post the official response please as it sounds like they have made themselves look even worse...

Just read the article. Unbelievable! Now making spurious remarks regarding Cerbera parts supplies. Defending the valuations. No admission of guilt. No apology.

I can't even log onto the TVRCC site, it tells me my membership has run out and my number doesn't;'t work - even though it doesn't expire until 8th October 2015!

Just read through the TVRCC thread on values, actually it`s configured under the heading July Sprint, not a subject apparently worth it`s own title.

Interesting the take of some of the posters towards PHers..trolls,not given to discussion etc.. to be honest it left a bit of a sour taste, very much a "them and us" scenario. The apple of suitable redress or appropriate response has fallen far from this particular tree.. and been kicked into the hedge !!

If I wish to source anything TVR PH`s is my first port of call, not the sterile, matey environment the TVRCC forum offers.. to me its a self serving and poorly attended arena for blowing up each others chuff, any dissension being quietly sidestepped.

There`ll be no renewal from this particular corner of Worcestershire.

That has existed for the 15 years Pistonheads has been around. There's history to it.

Just read the article in my copy of Sprint and to be honest from an analytical standpoint the argument simply doesn't stand up to scrutiny.

Data has been collated from ONE magazine and the comments of ONE dealer. Data should be drawn from multiple sources. Min 3 dealers and 3 magazines, i would suggest.

They say in the article that the club have themselves valued 2 excellent condition cerberas in the last 6 months, '98 4.5's at £19k and £21k. This is completely at odds with the table of values, so why wasn't this data included? The club had its own data on values, which it states and i quote:

"has never been queried or refused by any insurance broker/company"

If a '98 4.5 in excellent condition is worth £21k, it beggers belief how you can come to the conclusion that a concours cerbera is worth £14k.

EPIC FAIL.

Exactly... How utterly ridiculous IMO! They clearly think a good condition 4.5 is 21k, yet willingly print an article they wrote saying a concours 4.5 is 14k, and then defend it?! WTF?!

The TVR Car Club had/has some fantastic individuals and some not so, like any walk of life. However, as a organisation and collective of individuals it starts to go down hill very rapidly imho. Perhaps the mindset required to like it is not one I share, a bit like a masonic lodge mindset, where you JFDI because that is how it is, like it or leave.
If I remained a member I'd be ripping into all and sundry on the club forum about this issue right now, all assuming the IT was up to it. However I'm no longer a member. The site chat forum was dire, it was ill attended and had far too many small minded village politician types for my liking. At one point it did have a policy of asking members to not use PH but most ignored that, probably due to the above shortfalls. Overall it was the colective attitude that that made me not to want to renew my membership.
I can accept the club can do what the club wants to do without worrying about it too much, so long as it doesn't impact non members such as me, but there is no escaping the fact that the article was a damaging one to the Marque and car values. The subsequent actions are just a qualification of why the club is one I want no part of. I'm just pissed off if it drives or keeps down the value of my Cerbera when I'm a fully paid up member waiting on the new car and looking to trade up.
Obviously AIMHO.

Thinking about it, most if not all TVR members from back when I was member that I know most of whom still own TVR's are no longer club members which begs the question; are there more TVR owners on PH than in the TVRCC, not forgettting its a Car Club and not a Car Owners club so a headline it has nnnn members doesn't stand up to scrutiny. Anyone know the answer to that?
