A Cerbera is going through the Manheim Leeds Auction Centre on Wednesday 7th October. It's a Speed Six with just over 33K.

Details attached

Looks like it's been in the wars a little bit and could do with a little TLC!

Is this car known to anyone on PH?

It's gotta be worth £10k ie a late speed 6 that clearly needs some money spent to bring exterior up to spec and could need mechanicals looking at too.

Watched it go through. Auctioner started by saying it Caps at £21k and that he wanted to get as near to that as possible. There was an audible grown from the audience. He asked who would start the bidding. Nothing. Do I hear £18k. Silence. Do I hear £17k. Silence. Do I hear £16k. Somebody put his hand up. Do I hear £16100. Err, nope. Sojust the one bid and the car sold.

Tried watching, had to work frown Didn't look too bad, more a used example so probably about right on the price? Maybe it looked better in the flesh.

£16K - glad I didnt go along! Thats a great price for the buyer, if it only needs minor money spent on it and it has great provenance/history. Athough I guess that price excludes auction fees. I do however suspect it needs a few quid spending on it though so I suspect the seller has done well. Although a dealer may try and polish it and try and retail it for £25K without spending anything.

I assumed it would have the later headlights being a 2002 car. It shows that prices are stronger than some would like people believe.

That appears to be the car Tomej bought from the dealer near Stansted 4/5 years ago at 32k miles. It was diagnosed with a failed head gasket about 6 months into his ownership and he offloaded the car not long after. Saw it pop up at various general car dealers since but it never sold iirc.

Easiest way to make 8 grand ever I'd expect.

In fairness its less than £8K ie they have to pay auction fees, warrant it, service it etc... Then of course they will be stuck with it what with the engine issues.

True. Hopefully my earlier, and I admit rather blunt statement expresses my dismay that they'd (assuming this is the same Cerb and isnt a co-incidence) expect to pass it off at that price without checking that the car and it's history wasn't known to PH.

Its certainly identical to his car re colour, interior, year and mileage! I cant find the old threads when the car was for sale at various garages... found it:
