Great work, looks like they managed to achieve in a day what took me 5!!
They do have all thr right tools and it is not the first time they have done this.

Olly do you now work at the Landrover Jag place at the uni of Warwickshire just out side Coventry?

I was in the building opposite yesterday if so.

I'm at JLR now, yes. But not at that site. I'm in Special Vehicle Operations (SVO) based at Gaydon.

JLR has a more stable likelihood than the entire marine industry right now, I'm happy in that knowledge after a turbulent few years!

As for the name, I still like boats....

Front suspension all back on and steering rack in place.

Just about to refit brake callipers on the front and then torque everything up as it should be.

Fuel and brake lines to be run in next week then the body goes back on later in the week.

Really hope to be back on the road for March:-)

Back from Newark?
You, or the chassis?
Very disappointed neither of you dropped in for a chat....I live about three miles from Str8Six, or Willow Tearooms as some of us know it. laugh

I know Anthony very remis of me but I never actually made it up there, life and especially work has been so busy for the last few months.

They have done a superb job with the out riggers replaces and the top chassis rails and at least half the bracing tubes round the engine.

Also significantly up rated are the rear anti roll bar mountings as they had cracked away from the main chassis.

So far very impressed with the work being done, the two apprentices, Dan and George are being meticulous about the way they rebuild it all, I popped in today to take these photos and they were measuring some washers with a micrometer screw gauge to make sure they were identical on each side of the car. Not convinced that level of detail was observed in the original build.

Next time I am up your way I will drop in for a brew, rest assured.

Progress update, suspension and brakes all reassembled and wheels back on.

A load of that lovely white is now covered in Dinitrol before the body goes back on tomorrow, it seems a shame but the top of the out riggers and every where hard to clean is getting a good coating. I know it looks horrible but if it extends the life of the chassis a few years it has to be worth it.

Body back on the chassis now, brake and fuel lines all in place.

Ended up using the clear Dinitrol so not as ugly as coating the chassis in black or brown.

I bit of new heat shielding to be fitted inside the engine bay and then the the engine and gearbox can go back in.

Looking forward to being back on the road.

I have to say that Dan and George, the two apprentices at STR8SIX, who are doing this work are doing a superb job, their attention to detail is excellent!!

No photo's this week but the interior is all back in and the fuel tank back in the car and connected up.

Mechanicals next week but really could do with the exhaust gaskets from ACT to arrive, seems to be a bit of a delay there, has anyone else experienced this recently?

One engine and gear box are all back in it will be a case of refill and bleed the brakes and clutch, a full geo set up and then fuel and oil and take it for a blast.

Can't wait just a couple of weeks to go:-)

Where do you plan for her first proper outing? A few of us are doing one of the last two track days ever at Hullavington near Chippenham, with MSE. £109 on Friday 11March if you are so inclined.

Pleasure! Look forward to seeing you, and the car if you have it with you.
