A Cerbera coming back to England!
Discussion
Sod it, I've had it.
I've been trying to get my plate for 18 months now.
Went to the MOT again today to get my european COC
and they sent me walking again because they want a piece of paper that doesn't exist...
So they suggested I park it in the garden and put some flowers in it
So I'm going to register it back in England.
Saves me a few quid in taxes as well
any recommendations on insurance companies?

Have a chat with the guys at Passion in Mouscron first, they are experienced at getting cars registered and now have Official Dealer status.
Yes i know them Paul. But i don't know if they can just write a valid piece of paper. And then be accepted by the dvla.
And after that i still have 2 mot's to go, each €112...
I've currently spent over €400 on Mot's...
I'm not going to beg them so I can please pay 2,5k taxes a year. And another 700 to register it.
I'd rather spend it on the car
I have an address in the uk so it shouldn't be too hard.
Fernhurst is going to import her back into the UK and give her a 12k service

It took 6 months of here in Lux with the dullest jobsworths that you could imagine before they realised I was only an enthusiast and not an importer before BlackBeauty© could stride (legally) across this little Dukedumb.
Good luck back in blighty

Nils, phone Pascal@Passion to get you a coc thru Marc Minne, he does live in France but does still own the importership and should be able to get you a coc and typeplate
good luck,
Frank
Hi frank!good luck,
Frank
I know Passion would probably get it fixed, but at what cost and it would take another few months.
Frankly, im fed up with belgian bureaucrates.
Ive already retrieved my documents so I think my mind is made up.
Hi Gents ,
Sorry to bump this thread , but it pops up some questions for me .
I have recently bought a 1997 TVR Chimaera , originally LHD , dutch delivered through importer NIMAG .
I have already imported this car to Belgium , and want to register it next summer .
I have called the local 'MOT' station and they told me there that in order to pass the Belgian MOT , I need to source a Europe COC ( certificate of conformity ) . I have been in contact with TVR UK , where they informed me they can source me this COC for 400 GBP .
When reading the above stories , I conclude that this document is not OK then ?
Or is it a different case for the TVR Chimaera , originally imported and homologated in Belgium at the time , as opposed to the Cerbera that wasn't imported nor homologated originally .
Can someone of my Belgian friends shed a light ?
Much appreciated ,
Regs , Harald

Hi Frank ,
I was at Spa idd.
Colour of the Chim is 'Smaragd Black' , a special ( Mercedes ) colour ordered by Nimag which looks like black , but with a dark green metallic shade .
Inside it has butterscotch and black ull leather with contrasting stitching .
It was ordered as their motor show stand car for the 1997 RAI motor show in Holland .
Can you please PM me your contact details and address please so I can pop over and have a look at your Griff :-)
