Hope the link works, is this a forum owner car, does anyone know of its history.
Should I be worried about the engine change if I were interested in viewing it ?

Thanks

That HAS to be one of the worst adverts that I've ever read.

whats wrong with the advert? (apart from the numbers of cerbs remaining!) covers all bases and more i would say. Its very close to me if anyone wants a spy to look at it.

Agree - advert doesn't seem that bad. Pretty decent value too imo.

At least it has "NO DENTS".....

Unknown true mileage and wax-oiled chassis would make me a little concerned as to whats lies beneath.

I wonder who from radio 1 owned it, because in my cerbs past history Steve wright used to own mine.

Identical colour combo to mine but he has working lights in the pods. Assume they are LED's to get that bright? Has anyone on here done the same? Mine are barley readably ...

For me, I am not keen on the way the ad is written.. I think it would require viewing, but the owner might be a bit erm.. abrasive?! Calling Cerb owners snobs pretty much, inaccurate info about how many left etc etc!

I have been so tempted by this until I did some research on it here is what I have found;

It was previously owned by someone on the forum see 4th car down
http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...

Then see pictures from that owner, was a while ago so work may have been done on it
http://s130.photobucket.com/user/brogenville/libra...

And finally the most recent MOT
https://totalcarcheck.co.uk/FreeCheck?regk=P621nlb

No mention in the advert of the power steering leak again hopefully been sorted if not what else could be there? If it was close to me I probably would take a punt but it's over 300miles away

I'm inclined to say it's a poor advert. Calling those who set out looking for an original 4.5 "SNOBS" not once but twice is dim at best.

It's going to need a body-off resto probably sooner rather than later. Actual milage is unknown. Colour combination average. Spec is average. The price hasn't got that much going for it and he doesn't want to negotiate. Personally I'd pass. The seller seems surprisingly uninformed which is what really doesn't give me a comfortable feeling. Something to me just whispers "I haven't spent what this car has needed for some time" in that ad.

The amount he's spent on it and then selling it for 13.5k plus little tit-bits about outriggers needing attention and chassis needs powder coating suggest to me you should run like hell in the opposite direction.

WOW, I love this forum, thanks for the heads up and info. The owner has not got back to me either.
I did wonder about the out riggers and chassis ( oiled every year)
I will stay away.
This is what forum's like this is about and when I do get a cerbera I know its going to be there or there abouts.

For what it's worth, if I was in the market, the advert would completely put me off too. It comes across as short, snappy, and abrasive. The Radio 1 DJ nonsense, the 4.5 snobbery nonsense, the spiders buckle nonsense, the "engine covered 8000 miles" over and over again nonsense... It all needs to go.

Nobody wants to hear opinion in an advert, what they want is fact. The car's mileage, not simply the engine mileage, service history details, good points, bad points, all put together succinctly and wrapped up. I could almost guarantee you'd have more success doing it this way.

I think its a pretty stty thing to do come on here & slate someone's car , even more so that some of you are taking any notice of this posters 1st post ?
Maybe some comments as Snob might offend but I have met many many 'precious' TVR owners & some on here , if the engine has been rebuilt by Redmans & they confirm this then all good...I seem to remeber someone ended having their special engine rebuilt in the end in some garage owners/workers kitchen but is supposedly a revered 30k car ...?

Robsco : you seem to have an opinion ...how did your buy of that 2nd Cerbera go & the Tuscan before that ??? yeah not nice is it, so why from your glass house did join in here attacking this poor blokes car ?
jamie , well Eig , he is 1 of the few real down to earth enthusiast no nonsense owners here TBH.
Anyway good luck with it !

Too right Gaz 100%, I for one think the ad is fine. Surely comments should be on the quality of car presented and not advert written I mean if its down to a bad ad then the car doesn't attract interest and sell?

I thought points made were good and stressing the engine had low milage since a solid build was to inspire confidence in a TVR problem area or one that has kept many away. Maybe its just an advert I can connect with if I was potentially buying (A good engine, Chassis and electrics) The rest id negotiate and factor into my budget for 'tinkering' No spiders... I see as a massive bonus apart from wouldn't have any hungry owners wanting them as soon as I were to put some SP12s on (or a better wheel) IMO only perhaps.

Nice car and if i didn't already have what I call my own perfect for me cerbera then id definitely enquire.
