I think unless the injector is buggered, with new filters and cleaning they can be returned to 100%.
You misunderstood me. I agree they should be returned to 100%. What I am surprised by is that "100%" for every injector report I've seen exactly matches the manufacturers spec, never a single cc/min under or over. One would imagine that manufacturing tolerances and wear might occasionally give a single cc/min difference but I've never seen it, aside from the occasional one being 'beyond repair' as Aide says.
You are right.. I didn't read what you said properly.

I want to cut two ball nosed slots on the bellhousing face that mates with the gearbox, so that I can run the bleed and master cylinder lines in-between the gearbox and bellhousing.

Ordered a 12mm Ball Nosed Slot Drill from http://www.drill-service.co.uk to cut out the slots.

I should be able to use the depth gauge on my drill keep the slot roughly the same depth and then finish them off smoothly with a file, sandpaper and some scotchbrite.

Again if you are any distance from me. near brands hatch, don't use a hand drill, come and use a big mill. You will get a much nicer result with a straight line, and don't spend your money on ball nose endmills I have gazillons of them. frown

Morning Julian,

That's a very kind offer.

I'm around an hour's drive from brands hatch.

I'll PM you.

Many thanks!

Headers arrived today:

Hi again, it looks as though you don't do things by halves, great thread. Would you mind if I asked how much it cost for the ceramic coating? Cheers.

Forgot to ship the water rails with the engine last week, so I zipped up the M40 and dropped them off this morning smile

So it was your engine I saw up there on Saturday, mine is on the engine stand round the corner from that having a few bits done while they sort my chassis.

Going 4.7? Jason does those rather well!!

Yes - I called up on Saturday morning to drop off the water rails – I forgot to ship them with the engine.

When we were chatting about what we’re going to do to my engine we went around and looked at the 4.7 in-build and the (rather rare) cams on your engine.

It looks like I have a head stud leaking and an oil seal so I just need head gaskets and the heads rebuilt (new valve and guide work)

Didn't know my cams are rare, tell me more.

He built the engine a couple of years ago, I am just getting the big ends and main bearing replaced as a preventative measure as it is out of the car, oh yes and torquing the heads down again as well just to check all is well.

I'm told that original high lift cams aren't available anymore?

I hope to get my engine back in a few weeks.

In the meantime I'll tidy up the engine bay and get everything ready for reassembly.

Ah yes I see, I wonder how many high lift cams came out of the factory as standard?

Anyone ever seen any measurements on the cams to tell what you have. I have two cams and they aren't the same. Just wondered if theres a way of identifying them
