Aide, think I saw you on your way to STR8SIX around noon, I was in the Swordfish Tuscan coming out of the road by the pub in Lewknor.

How is it going?

Thanks Steve, will do.
So far so good.
The pedal feel never changes.
The original and rp used to feel easier when cold and got stiffer once warmed up.
The tilton is just the same all the time, hot or cold, in heavy city traffic or on the motorway.

6 months after fitting.
I had to remove the gearbox due to 5th gear failure.

Happy to say that after a hot summer of motoring the Tilton slave is dry as a bone and perfect.

Is there any further updates on the Tilton/Wilwood setup? Is it proving reliable? My master/slave has just failed & considering this route to get rid of the Achilles Heal of the Cerbera😊😊
Any information from others would be most welcome.

I did mine about 2 years ago now and it's been fine. My Wilwood master cylinder started leaking some months ago so that's been changed, but the Tilton slave is still going strong.

That's good to know. I think it's the way forward just need to study the mods required to the bell housing etc. But thanks gives me a little more confidence in using Tilton.😊

CerbWill did this mod first and kindly shared his knowledge with me.
Thanks Will.

I never fitted the willwood master, have always used the std one.
I swapped the GB in June17 and the tilton slave is still perfect.
The only advice I can give is follow the instructions when installing, that's it!

Aide thanks for the update. I think I will go Tilton/Wilwood. I know Power have a slave unit manufactured in Coventry but no details of the spec/benefits.

Np Mark, glad to help.

I have spare rubber gromits, happy to post one when you get to that stage.

Out of interest, why have you opted for the Wilwood master?

Changing the master as mine has failed. Choosing Wilwood as so many people are reporting that their OEM Master has failed.

Price & quality?

Wilwood Master Cylinder £37.25+VAT.

TVR Master from:-
TVR Power £69.99 + VAT
Race Tech Direct £51.50 + VAT
TVR Parts £49.50 + VAT

So I thought I would give Wilwood a go. Not unless anyone else has a good argument.

Thanks for the offer I will let you know nearer the time. I just want to be able to enjoy my Cerbera once that has been sorted I will probably do my T350 on the next change!

Thanks

Mark

My reason for going Wilwood was that after trying the Tilton slave with the standard bore master cylinder I felt the clutch was overly sensitive and a small range of pedal movement took it from completely engaged to completely disengaged making smooth engagement of the clutch difficult. To fix that issue I went for a smaller (0.625" bore) master cylinder, with the effect that it makes the clutch lighter too. Build wise the Wilwood seemed identical to the original 0.7" Girling unit

Thread resurrection. How are the Tilton slaves holding up for those that have done the conversion?

Every time I go to drive my car I have no fking clutch. It’s taken 13 years but it’s starting to piss me off!

Sorry for the language smile
