A couple of weeks ago I decided to adjust the striker on the passenger door as it wasn't opening cleanly, and wasn't aligned with the bodywork.

I managed to fix it 'til it broke. The actuator simply stopped releasing the catch altogether. Fortunately the cable release continued to work.

Yesterday I removed the catch to find that there is a lever that operates like a child lock, and this had somehow moved to isolate the release lever operated by the actuator.

If it happens again I should be able to fix it without removal. Door now pops open perfectly for the first time since I've owned the car.

Seeing as the mechanism is from an Astra or something like that, it figures!

Didn't know that, thanks for sharing smile

I can imagine the lightbulb moment when you're looking at the mech trying to work out why pulling on the catch doesn't do anything smile
