I don't particularly want to do it, but has anyone had their Cerb's front end wrapped with PPF?

It's come a long way from the days when it looked like an orange peel, but I'm still not entirely convinced. The only reason I'm even contemplating it, is that the new paint job is a three stage high pearlescent which, if damaged, may require an awful lot of repainting.

All views much appreciated.

That looks very impressive that Ceramic PRO 9H. I was thinking of having mine done in that XPEL ultimate PPF but it is very costly.

I would be very interested to hear some real world experience of the later self healing PPF products.

I agree it does look good.

My clear coat is lifting in a couple of places and I was wondering if it would mask that to a certain extent.

I don't want to get the car painted, every scratch, scuff and stone chip has a story behind it that tells a tale of years of fun that the car and I have shared but I would like to cover up the flaky clear coat if possible.

I know what you mean, hence why I'm only looking to do the front end to stop stone chips

Mine has this applied to the front and various parts at least 15 years ago and appears to have done a marvelous job of protecting the paintwork. There is only a single decent stone chip on the bonnet and that is about 6 inches above where the the the film ends. The film is on the front end of the bonnet and wings, the front of the wing mirrors and around the exhaust pipe apertures

You have to look closely as the edges aren't that visible (horizontal line about an inch below the bottom of the bonnet edge vents)

If you get the light right and also if there is excess polish on the film edges (yes I did polish the car last summer) then the edges are more visible. This is the horizontal cut off and also you can see the edge of the piece that goes down between the light pod and the bonnet.

I *think* it would be about £400 for a Cerb..

Sounds a whole lot better than a £5k respray!

It all very much depends on cars colour.

The clear wrap was never my favourite thing but protecting from stones is. My silver Cerb has the lover sills (front & sides) wrapped in a matching Silver Vinyl.

Well close to matching in name but colour is spot on. Car is Stardust Silver wrap colour is Gloss Metallic Silver (Supreme Cast by Avery).

That is very impressive for 15 years! Especially as most of the original PPF installs seem to have either gone yellow or have started peeling. Do you know what brand of PPF was installed on yours?

Speak to TANGO on here about getting a liquid dip on your car. It is a clear coat peelable paint that is great at stopping the stop chips. about £400 for the car.

I don't know what brand it is except it is from prior to 2003. It is some sort of clear vinyl.

Does anyone know of any recommended installers in the Bedford area?
