I've seen a few threads from jonbarrett around the 2008 time about the problem of windows being pushed out at speed, e.g. http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a... The cure seemed to be some venting underneath the rear screen and under the boot which was introduced on later cars (I have a '96 with the under rear screen vents but no others) to reduce cabin pressure build up at speed. As the info is now 8 years old the photos have disappeared, does anyone have any photos of the boot vents on their car?

I have a 1998 model and haven't found any vents which would explain my side windows being pulled away from the rubber at speeds exceeding 150mph or so.

I tend to just open both windows a bit when pressing on

This may have solved a mystery that has been bugging me for the last two weeks. I've only owned my car ('97 4.2) a couple of months, but while exploring it I noticed two depressions in the trim underneath the bottom of the rear windscreen, one of which actually allows me to push my finger into the car from underneath It (the other is a bit too tight). They don't let water in, so I wasn't too worried, but they now make sense. Given the age of my car, I assume someone put them in sometime during its life for this reason.

As I remember it Tvr would retrospectively drill holes under rear screen as some customers had lost their rear screen etc due to pressure build ups etc

I've got a vent into the boot behind the helmet holder, not sure if that's normal, same type of vent that you have by your knee and under the centre of the dash. Normally have a window open so no idea if it stops the Windows popping though.

Interesting, my car definitely doesn't have that.

I'll grab a picture later if it's of interest.

Here you go;

From the cabin

From the boot

Hmmm I wonder if there's some vents to the outside in the boot or wheel arches to go with that link between the cabin and boot. I'm not sure how just linking the cabin and boot would fix the problem. BTW my vents under the rear screen have foam stuffed in them. Anyone else's like that or are they empty?

Don't know, you are assuming the boot is air tight hehe. I'll add a cruise up the motorway with the windows closed on my blat route this afternoon.

I have these. They are about 4-5 inches long, sculpted into the rear rim under the windscreen, one at each side, which vent the the outside under the carbon trim.

I had a look around a mk2 Cerbera this weekend and it didn't have the vents under the rear screen as far as I could see. I wonder if there's several different versions of a venting system along with some crossover mixtures as would be typical of TVR.
