i replaced the earth wire running from the engine bay into said area as part of the body off as it was well beyond its sell by date !!
computor says no faults lambda / AFR so will get on searching for the bugger.

Had exactly this on my Cerb a few years ago - turned out to be the ECU which MBE eventually admitted they couldn't fix. Replacement ECU fitted and been fine since.

Depending on who you ask it's the Mother-In-Law warning, or Malfunction Indicator Light which, if it illuminates while driving, tells you that "something is wrong". The ECU will log a fault to indicate why it lit up (unless you have a wiring fault which causes it to light up by itself). I think the handbook advises you to "pull over and have the car examined by a TVR service centre immediately", or something more alarmist.
