For all of you who like to maintain a permanent link to the serial connector in the ECU here is my approach:

-Remove the ECU from the passenger footwell.
-Take the cover off.
-Make a copy of the cover in acrylic glas (very simple to work on).
-Grind a recess into the edge of the copy to create an exit for the wires.
-V0.1: Make some connector out of one male and one female D-sub 9 connector and some wires (My soldering was too bad, so the wires got ripped of too easily).
-V0.2: Get some crimp-on connectors and a flat cable, try again.
-Grind a recess into the acrylic glas just above the socket on the PCB, to give enough room for the connector. (I had to undo the secondary clip on the connector to make it fit. A potential V0.3 would include thicker acrylic glass to give more room)
-Plug in your newly made cable.
-Put the cover back on using longer bolts and using the acrylic glas as a spacer under the cover, seal the joints if you like.

The cable can be hidden easily. In my installation it is connected to an OTG cable, the mini-USB connector of which exits the dashboard next to the radio.

And here are two pics for you:

I hope you like it
