ECU mod to bring the fans on earlier?
Fan override switch?

Does the second fan only come on if you've the aircon running?

Had the car sitting in traffic several times in Belgium in hot temps, car got upto 95 according to the app, 100 on the gauge. Some of the other cars were getting warm but a quick blast of the heater brought it down
Second fan cuts in at about 95 which is why you will see the temp rise to around 95 and then drop till that fan cuts out at 92 I think, then it will start to rise again.

100deg is not over heating, about 115 is overheating so you have a 20deg or so margin.

Cerberas really do not overheat I think we have all got used to modern cars where the temp gauge is only a representation of is all ok or not, the engines temps do vary but the gauge does not show within tolerance variation and stays sat in the middle unless something is wrong.
Yup only up to 95 according to the app, perfectly within normal temps. Bigger problems were getting stuck in traffic in a fibreglass greenhouse with lots of other hot vehicles. Aircon worked lovely on the way over but was lukewarm in the heavy traffic.

I used to dread traffic jams in the Cerbera, you'd be balsting down a nice country road ,round the corner temporary traffic lights/roadworks....no one in sight working.
The temp gauge would indicate 100 & that was with a larger Alloy Rad fitted. In the end I fitted a over ride switch for the fans, didn't help that much .I then fitted a different Thermostat & an inline 12v pump, I used one from a mercedes van, when I came to a jam switched th pump & fan on & never saw above 85ish...happy days.

The other thing and sorry if I sound silly is make sure your expansion tank cap is seated correctly on its thread! I did this incorrectly a few times before I was educated and temp would go above 100/boil and steam etc once it got too bad the MIL came on and car shut itself down.

Problem was actually the cap not flat then pressure would be all funky and the drama happened!

....new thermostat thrown in boot and a new temp sensor
I think the problem you've got is that you've put the thermostat in the boot...........

For a trial take the thermostat completely out and have all the water going thru the rad all of the time, if it still overheats then its a probably a pump problem. I took my stat out and have never put in back in. The whole car runs better! no hot gearstick, no unbearable cabin temps even without AC. I run an emerald ECU so can easily control the fan switching points. It also has an electric water pump on the return hose to the radiator and a ARRON aluminium uprated radiator.

I have never heard of a Cerbera running to cold!. Probably produces more power and runs much safer as the temp is usually around 70 to 80. Also remember these engines can be a bastxxd to fill with water. The best result I got was to finally top the engine up through the water rail bleed valves and radiator bleed after initially filling up through the expansion tank. The engine will usually throw out any excess water there is in the system as the expansion tank is really to small for the engine.

Sorted ...... so new rad has upgraded fans mounted directly to it....so in traffic the ecu temp, not the gauge, sits around 92 with the fans doing their bit perfectly.

Happy boy lemon indeed!!
